I actually don't have any need for Centipedes at the moment.  In 1956 they were mostly running west out of Altoona.  For the Middle Division, any spare cash should go to additional M1s.

If this shizzle is the real drizizzle then I may end up selling my brass I1sa to subsidize an M1 fleet.

No!!!!! Not the Hippo! I have two of these brass babies. You can't let go of a Hippo!

Nothing concrete but the BLI site says March...  I expect April.

Now new E8's are up on BLW.  No PRR's though.  The new E7's have them though.

If the CB&Q E7 actually hits the shelves than I will have to pick up at least one or two.  I never thought I would have the opportunity to have E5, E7 & E8's all on my roster!

BLI has the PA's in house now. They are going through QC and should be going out to distributors now according to the last newsletter from them. They are 100% sold out at BLI. This and the E's being sold out are probably good reasons that we are seeing the increase in N scale product.

I really wish MB Klien would do pre-orders, they had the best price that I found.

Had an email yesterday, my Brunswick Green PA's have been dispatched. Just in time as my E7's have suffered an electronics failure!  :x

They appear to be.  All pertinent information is posted on the BLI website.

Well, I did it today.  I reserved an M1b (#6704...photographic evidence shows it still in operation through the end of '56).  It's an act of what, quite frankly, is unwarranted faith.  But I did it.  Went with BLW.  This is my first order through them.  Also pre-ordered a Chuck-Pak of H30s from FVM.

I placed my first M1b order sometime in the mid-2000s ('04 I think?) with Jerry Britton's PRR Merchandise Service online store.  Jerry quit the sales biz many years ago and with it went my original pre-order.  Thankfully (and classfully(?)) Jerry didn't require a deposit, and neither does BLW.  By my estimation it's been a decade since the M1s were announced.

If this really turns out to be true this time, maybe BLI can start offering some of its other wares (such as the K4, I1, L1, etc.).  That they went for the Centipede offers real hope.  I think the H10 would be another good move, although they seem to be fixated on sound which may not work as well with the small H10 tender.  H-class consolidations could be found anywhere another railroad interchanged with Pennsy.  If you're doing 1930s-1950s B&O, NKP, NYC, Erie, DL&W, LV, LNE, CNJ, WM, PL&E, Big Four, and anything that went into Chicago or St Louis, and you have a PRR interchange, you need an H-class 2-8-0!

+1, Dave.

I'm lucky because I reserved mine with House O' Trains (another Dave) here in Omaha. He's going to pick up a six-pack of the B&O hoppers for me, as well.

Let's hope we aren't misplacing our hopes  this time!

If I can stuff the electronics and speaker necessary to get sound in an Atlas GP7, and Atlas can do it for an S-2 switcher, a small tender shouldn't be a problem.  Let ESU LokSound engineer the board, use a decent cell-phone type speaker, and you're there.

I don't model the Pennsy, but I think BLI's commitment to N scale is good news for the hobby.  I have 4 of their NKP PA-1's coming; they are the only manufacturer that took the time to make sure that the numberboards were the correct style (the angled ones on the nose); that both the Mars light and headlight were on the nose and properly positioned vis-a-vis the NKP herald on the nose; that made sure that the shell didn't have dynamic brakes; that researched the colors to get them correct; etc.  Kato never did an NKP unit and LifeLike's got all these details wrong except the paint.  ConCor's were a joke as far as fidelity to NKP prototype goes.  While the M1 has truly been a fiasco, I'm willing to give any manufacturer that goes to this much trouble to "get it right" a chance.  I hope they are great, because another high-quality competitor in N scale would be terrific.
