A few pages back in this thread we talked about depot size from a photo. The original photo:

I messed around with drawing it in CAD back then and just recently finished the drawing for cutting. Was going to have Mount Blue Models cut it for me as they have the finest laser width I've ever seen. Their e-mail was full so I sent it to Bruce Monroe at Monroe Models. The parts came in today.

Since the roads on my layout are a mirror of the real depot I also mirrored the depot for my layout.

The section house motor cart doors in the foreground were added later some I put the door back in that was there.

i went back and forth between the top and bottom pic 20 times, before realizing the 2nd photo is back assedwards. Beautiful looking building.

Sam

Edit, Now I understand why the photo is mirrored.

that depot came out wonderfully
is it wood or a cardboard kind of material?
I like the way you mirrored the structure to fit the mirrored street
just another well done piece of work from you
thanks for sharing!

The walls are micro plywood, about 1/32" thick. The windows and trim are about .015" thick laser board with a double stick coating on the back. Pretty much like a regular laser kit.

Lets just say they recently installed switch motors and pistol grip style throw levers in the tower

I'd love to model all the rods, but would rather stay sane.

I saw the Darnaby articles in MR on modeling the throw rods -- looks like it takes as much labor and time as putting all the layout track down. But you could do what I did -- put some short rods sticking out of the tower, and  fab up empty support pedestals along the ROW so it looks like there were rods, but they were all removed.

This speeder shed is from Walthers trackside structures. I busted all the glue joints (aka turned it into a kit) and shortened the side walls to make it square instead of rectangle. Built a new roof.

I found a shop with tie stack bundles. I was looking for the 3 piles of track parts. Fish plates rail joints and I think there was one other. At work now, can't search.

Edit. Looking for ND-025 tie plates and joiner bars.
