About the hole in the backdrop and lighting and all that. There is a bridge on each side of the backdrop and you can see the far bridge from the near side both ways. The track to staging ducks behind the far bridges abutment and "disappears". There is a good amount of light on the main and well I don't want to call any more attention to the other track. I just stuck a piece of building back there because I had it laying around.

The hole. Black cardboard wall behind the building.


One side. These abutments are far from done. Light gets through the top.

Today it was 70 degrees out so I opened the door and walked out  :)

Last year before winter a dog ran across the street and into the side of my car, when I turned around the dog was gone.


I ordered a fender last year and today I was going to fit it.


But I most have bought a 4-door fender and the body lines at the door didn't match  :facepalm: So I get to drive like this till the new fender shows.


When I changed cars from a VW to a Honda my insurance went up $47 a month (was $50, up to $97 even though I have a 4 cylinder and not a V6 race car). I changed insurance (that I had same company for 12 years) and now my deductible is $1000. There is a rust spot on the back wheel well so I'm sure it will cost $1000 get the whole side painted. I'm sure this will later be followed up with me bitching about how the silver doesn't match  :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Just ordered Tamiya X25.  Thinking Dullcote from the inside, thin coat of the green from the inside, then some of that frosty white window paint from the inside.

Make sure and do some samples on extra window glazing before you put it on your real windows.  I used that Tamiya clear green for factory windows once and hated it.  I'm sure with some tinting/dullcoat it would provide a good effect, but just the tint not so much so.  If I get a chance I'll try and find a picture of how it turned out.

If they know how to properly match color codes, it should. I've seen no end of asshatery from the local GM dealership service department, over my parents' cars. (as a disgruntled Firebird fan, I won't buy GM on principle.) They still managed to correctly match the paint when dad's car needed a new wing mirror. Yet, these were the same guys, who upon seeing the primered unit from the factory asked "You have a matte gray car?" :facepalm: His car is a weird, vaguely metallic, ivory color. Not that easy to match.

What kind of demon dog ran into your car?

Are the factory windows you want to tint going to be lit from inside, or just lit from layout light on them? With no internal illumination the windows will be lit with light that goes into the building then reflects back out, so the tinting will seem twice as dark as it looked before you installed the glass. In this case you'd need to make the windows half as dark as you think looks right.

Are you sure it is legal to drive a car with a missing fender in your jurisdiction?  It isn't in most due to the horrendous risk to pedestrians if you happen to clip one.

I don't want to meet that dog.   :scared:

Unfortunately, it looks like the damage is also into the leading edge of the door.  I'm not sure if the gap being closed up or the dog's noggin caused it, but it appears in the photo that there's a slight crease in the metal near the edge of the door.

I don't plan to have lights in the building. I'll have to practice mixing just a touch of green with some kind of cloudy white to get the color right.


The dog was running across the street at full gallop. Was a bigger black haired dog, that's all I saw. I think the door got bent when I first opened it to get out (didn't know my fender was dented yet.) All winter I unbolted the bottom of the fender and pulled it out so I could use the door. I don't plan to do the body work myself. I just bought the fender to save money, but now with 2 fenders I'm right up to what a shop would have charged me. Any paint with metallic is hard to match, you can get the color matched perfect, but it doesn't lay down the same as paint only. That is why I want the whole side painted.

Seems there tended to be a restaurant of some sort close to all Erie passenger stations and I have just enough room for a ESM White Tower. Problem is, it's backwards.


Anyone have the reverse model that they would want to trade me?
