Was thinking the same thing!  Reminds me of the Johnstown, PA trolley ducking under the Penny main.  Hardly enough clearance for the cat and the trolley pole, but it fit...

Yep. Backed with paint stirring sticks. I still have to dress the edges.

the paint stick backing is a good idea...  if you have space for it.. I would recommend it.

in other cases, where space is an issue....   I have found you can stick them on a surface and scenic around them with decent results.

I really like the staggered ends of the walls...  you are able to mesh them together nicely.

The stepped ends of the walls got backed and shaped with balsa to thicken the edges. Pics when the paint dries.

Moved around the bend and started mounting some Cripplebush rubber rock castings.




and smoothed it all out with scuptamold.

Here is the edge. Backed with balsa. Shaped to match the stone "steps". Then a dabbed on think matte gel to get the wood some texture. This is just a coat of primer.


In another area where the stepped stones were back against the backdrop I simply built up thickness with Scuptamold and shaped it before it dried.


BTW those Chooch flexible rock walls... I gate that sticky backing they have. It is sticky as hell, but yet doesn't bond very well. The edges always curl up. So I run all around the edge with ACC. The first time I used them I soaked the sheet in some sort of thinner to get all the adhesive off. Took forever and was a mess. I'm too lazy to do that now.

Lets just say they recently installed switch motors and pistol grip style throw levers in the tower 

I'd love to model all the rods, but would rather stay sane.
