After seeing what's been posted so far I feel like I could've done so much more with my time this week. All I got done this weekend was get a bunch of projects primered and ready for paint.

Been making offereings to the model gods?

I want to finally start building the "tree tunnel" that I want to mask where the trains enter and exit one end of my layout. Tried the MRC fiber clusters for the first time, and didn't like it. So, I decided to see what it would look like with WS fine leaf foliage over it.

I need to upgrade the other trees on the layout, now....

MRC fiber clusters?

I spend the last weeks to install decoders in some locos.
The latest was my first sound decoder installation:
- ESU LokSound micro V4
- Zimo 11x15 speaker
- Sound file EMD 567 prime mover
- Kato E5
- Bill Denton's E5B shell

Sorry, no video to demonstrate the sound but let me assure it is fantastic.

Thomas, nice sound install !

Our ModuTrak group had a Train Show this weekend so I decided to add some small buildings at the west end of the New Lisbon yard. I've been meaning to do this for quite a while but couldn't quite find the right looking yard office. Finally settled on the Danielson Building but I did modify it a bit. Mainly. I discarded the stone foundation but also changed the door locations and added some small details.

Apparently, made by JTT. Dunno how I managed to miss the bigger logo.

Despite all the ground foam they've got in them, they still have too many visible fibers, for my liking. They make a good scaffolding for other materials, though. I just don't have any ground foam close enough to the same shade, as the clusters I picked up. I originally bought the fine leaf foliage for non train related larger scale dioramas, that was my first time using it for anything in N scale.

I was going to suggest the same thing, or maybe imply that after lacing together this bridge, Mark is probably now qualified to be a professional tailor, or maybe a skilled cobbler (or even a corset maker :P ) .

This frightens me actually, because I don't know how I would ever be able to recreate any of the Milwaukee's distinctive bridges with such detail as this (if I ever had a place to build such a dream layout).

I can't believe how realistic the bridge appears, and it's too bad Mark can't bring that natural light into his layout room for a some dramatic shots . At least from the scene it is set in, we can still look forward to some shots looking up at the trains crossing the bridge to give us continuing perspective on this master modelling.

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.

Not even going to try and compete with Mark's bridge  ,but in the bridge building theme this is what I have been working on all this weekend due to the ridiculous cold and windchill here in Calgary that makes going outside painful.

This is the Beatton River bridge model in the early stages of landforming.   So far just using blocks of SubTerrain foam to get the bridge tower heights at the correct height to support the spans.   Have not yet got to the messy and smelly (but fun!) part of cutting, sanding and hot-wiring the next layers of foam.

Mark Dance, that bridge is fantastic!  You have graced these pages with several outstanding bridges these past months, but that one is amazing.  A very clean and accurate build.

Thankfully, I won't have to compete with that.  I spent most of my week on Baffin Island where it was -35C at night and gloriously sunny.  I can say I now know how to fix a snowmobile track.  Strangely, they get brittle in the cold  :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Thanks to the internet its power to make friends, I got to visit Kevin Klettke's Washington Northern (http://wnrr.net/) yesterday at the start of a business trip out west.  Not only is his modeling fantastic, Kevin's a great guy and it was fun to take the conversation off the digital world and into real space.  Granted, its HO, not N, but good modeling is still good modeling.  Here are three of the photos I took:

Kevin's had some work published at MRH, and his blog link there is here: http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/blog/8409
