Just to add to the conspiracy, I'd buy into B60's in Norfolk and Western.

I want the PRR stuff as much as the rest of you but Joe said an 80 ft baggage and I'll respect that.  I think one from a southern railroad is long overdue.  Southern, ACL, SAL or other would be find with me.

Except for converted Pullman cars you'll not find anything 80', not in the south...

A bit off topic...
What length is this one:

My guess would be 70' or 80'?

As I also model the B&O I fully agree with Tony Hines comments. They and many other railroads just did not have 80-ft baggage express cars on their rosters. The WOT car is insufficient to model many 70-ft baggage/express cars.

I sincerely hope that based on comments given on this Forum that MTL reconsiders their desire to produce a model of an 80-ft baggage/express car and produce another acceptable model of a 70-ft car or forget doing an 80-ft baggage/express and just do a combine - baggage/express + passenger or a baggage/express + RPO.

A little off topic, but I would like to see an express car rebuilt from a troop car.  There were a lot of those around and they would work a lot better on my curves than an 80' car.  Also B&O had them IIRC.

Awww... AWWW...

Hey Joe, how about a 70' Southern baggage car?

Hmm... Kiz's mind flits

I understand why Joe requested an 80' prototype:

The many of the parts are already tooled or at least are very close from previous releases.
Cut a new slide for the sides and you are almost there.
They already have a 60' car.
WOT has a 70' car.

Too bad an 80' all baggage car is such a rare bird. So far it looks like there may only be a handfull of roads that could be printed on one.

I would be up for a production converted troop sleeper also. I bought some to convert but like everything else, it takes time that I have very little of right now.

I do not get the posts about WOT
as long as it has been that I have found and followed their website
everything listed especially in 60' PRR type is NOT IN STOCK
so do they really offer it
or was it a "they once offered it" but now no longer
and one will have to be lucky enough to find one one eBay and the $ it will demand

There is more to life than PRR. WOT has had many runs of these 70' cars.

The doors are too close together for anything I model and they are not very friendly cars to take apart and kitbash.

Not so fast... and not so easy... most of the equipment found under the MT coach, parlor and Pullmans are inappropriate for a baggage car and would tale a lot of new tooling to adapt them to fit a typical baggage car.

Did we ever see NYC baggage cars on Pennsy trains?

I've seen pictures of it going both ways...NYC baggage cars in Pennsy trains and vice versa. Pre-PC days, too. Of course, I don't remember exactly what book(s) I saw these in.
