If done correctly, resin casting will reproduce detail with incredible precision--as good as and in some cases better than metal casting.
Yep. I've been doing some resin casting of things I need duplicates of in my other hobbies. I've had no problem replicating the detail in the original parts, right down to accidental scuffs and scratches I'd rather not duplicate.
