that is one snazzy return loop configuration! Is the switch sprung or actually physically thrown with a Tortoise or something?

Beautiful, very brilliant way to wind that track around!

Well if I ever build a Free-moN return loop ... I know how I'm doing it. Having a virtual no-limit on train length in that amount of real-estate is a major advantage.

The only thing that could make it better is a place to have a double track so you could operate 2 trains to meet.

Free-moNebraska will be exhibiting our biggest layout yet at the 21st Annual Train Show in North Platte, April 18th and 19th!
In addition to other layouts and vendors selling goodies, Union Pacific Bailey yard tours will also be available on Saturday! You won't want to miss out!
See you there!

It's inventory time! Going through all the modules and checking them out, making sure everything is ready for the North Platte Train Show in just 2 weeks!

One more week until the North Platte train show! Hope to see everyone in the area stop by and check out the layout.
Lots of new goodies to play with including block protection, automated turnouts, and radio control! This will be our largest layout yet, and with a smaller local show we'll have plenty of time for operations.
Cleaning up small items on the loop, I installed the double dummy diamonds and painted everything.

Mark, is that single crossing line operational, and could you hook another section up to it, or is it just a line "going off in that direction", left to the imagination of the viewer?

Nope, it's just a dummy, meant to disguise the loop as a more realistic interchange. I think it does the job quite well.

Time for some scenery work, its awesome you have all that trackage, but sceniced modules show better.
It would be cool if that stub was extended to be a possible interchange too, food for thought.

No doubt. But operational trains are better for
our
sake.
Here's everything, almost ready to load. That's 18 modules in 32 sections which spans 8 Scale miles. Supported on 48 sets of legs, (96 levelers). Split into 8 Power districts, including 3 reverse loops and one reverse section (wye). Single track, double track, bridges, tunnels, mountains, rivers, forest, desert. WOOOO WOOOO!!!! Can't wait to play!!
Here's the show schematic.

For the ops session, we'll have 5 trains total with local switchers at Marsland and Holland Drive.

And another show is over much too soon! We had another huge success with great operations on the triple loop wye.
The wye definitely stole the show this round. Aside from one minor dispatching error...which the crowd actually loved the most!
