Some users are asking about roundhouses for their plans and a few other said that SCARM is getting slower on very large projects. So here are two new posts in the blog that may be of help:

The new SCARM v. 0.9.25 is ready! It is coming with new shapes for the figures interface and many new and updated track libraries. Read more about it here:

SCARM Layout Software 0.9.25 Released

The new shapes are horizontal and vertical cylinders and will allow drawing of more objects and rolling stock, like the small steam engine below:

Several users reported for a problem with SCARM 0.9.25 after updating of a previous version. This is most probably due to corrupted download of the installation package. It seems that sometimes installer is able to run even if it is not downloaded correctly, but after that, the program crashes on startup. If you also experience such problems, follow the steps described in the link below:

Resolving SCARM Installation Issues

This should help for fixing of bad setup package downloads.

These were created with the old v.0.9.24 without the cylinder figures. The new v. 0.9.25 is able to produce even more realistic landscapes for those, who wish to create rich virtual layouts in SCARM.

I am not sure about that and cannot promise anything. There is a lot of work over the current Windows version and I will consider Mac port after it reaches 1.0 state at least.

Many users asked for the project file with the small steam engine that I used to show the new cylinder figures in SCARM v. 0.9.25, so here is it:

The article shows most of the steps in the drawing of a close representation of Prussian T3 loco in HO scale. Unfortunately, there is no way for automatic rescaling of the figures yet, but I am working over that. Below is shown the beginning of the drawing of one wheelset - as parts and assembled:
