Mitre Box

I have seen a photo of a small mitre box that has a slot that allows vertical cuts.  It looks like the vertical angle is 45-degrees.  I have looked at a few suppliers websites and didn't see it there.  Has anyone seen this mitre box or know where I could find one?  It would be perfect for making mitred corners for joining building walls.

I think they're made by Revell. Michael's has them, and probably the other craft stores too, like AC Moore or Hobby Lobby.

Not quite.  The one I want has a 45-degree angle slot going from the top to the bottom.  And, guess what?  I was in our local RONA store this morning looking for something else and as I walked by the tool aisle, I saw this  http://www.rona.ca/en/mitre-box.   Just what I'm looking for.  However, I now have another problem.  I need an extremely fine toothed saw that's long enough to go through this mitre box that will cut styrene without shredding it.  A razor saw is too short.  Any suggestions?

I'd suggest a pull saw ("Japanese style"), the more teeth per inch the better. Examples:

I own and like both.
The first one (35-231) is deep, made of aluminum, and comes as a set, matched with a fine-toothed saw.
The second one is made of plastic, and is shallow enough to accommodate a shallow razor saw - I've used it with the Atlas track-cutting razor saw.

I bought mine at Woodcraft - but they don't appear on the company's web site, so I'm not sure if they're still available there.

That looks exactly like the one you get at Home Depot, plastic, comes with a saw for like $10. Good for cutting molding, but I don't know about small train stuff.

There is no way you can place the object to be cut on its side and use one of the standard 45 degree guides for the saw?

Would a hacksaw achieve what you need?
48 tpi blades can be had, and most frames should easily clear the miter box.

As I mentioned in my first post, I want to use this box to cut 45-degree mitres in styrene to join wall pieces for building construction.  I have tried filing, using a sanding block and various other methods to get the angle right but none work well.  I thought using this device with a very fine-toothed blade may work better.  Using the regular 45-degree slot in a standard mitre box works for smaller pieces but doesn't work well with the long wall sides.  With this vertical (or off vertical ) slot, I can lay the piece flat, steady it better and, hopefully, get a better cut.  This is all conjecture, I haven't ever tried it.  The box only costs $13 so if it doesn't work, I'm not out that much.  Plus, I can use the box for other stuff.

If anyone has a better idea, I'm all ears.  Or screens
