Sorry, no. The converted Mark 4's kept the same spline, but added cross members to hold the containers.

The page has been tidied up at www.nscalekits.com so that it is clearer. The Milw decal sheet also includes the P&LE and the ISEX schemes.

Decals for the various Flexi-Van container trailers are now also available from the same site - 11 different paint schemes are available for containers that were used on all 4 versions of the Flexi-Van including the Mark II version that N Scale Kits are shipping.

Someone won this model at the N Scale Collector auction in Denver a couple years back.  This was done with the Microscale decals, and is basically what you'll get with the new kit.  (The etchings will save time over the wire bent for this one.)



And every true Flexi-Van fan will have an emblem off a trailer:

Wow, I've seen pictures of converted flexi-van cars from the '70s and '80s, but 2004?    I had no idea.

Re-use of the VTTX mark, not a converted car.

Unknown... it's always been my opinion that TT never got any Flexi-Vans, and the cars people think are converted Flexi-Vans are actually converted GATC G85 and G89 cars, like this:




Note that is just my opinion and not in any way fact...

What demand is there for G85 cars in N Scale?

We already produce the Clejan Spine Cars www.nscalekits.com the G-85 cars were used more widely than the Clejan cars, since although the G-85 cars were capable of clejan use. The General American built G-85 were used by the SP in Classes F-70-14 and F-70-15 [Tony Thompson points out that the similar R-85 cars were not bought by SP but converted their R-70-18 cars into similar cars in 1962]

Let me know your views on the G-85 cars - used more widely and in Trailer Train service. This might be a possible car for us.

I think you maybe mistaken Peter. Here is some info directly from SP engineering files and a contact in GATC.

F-70-14 : GATC class R-85 w/ Clejan loaders w/o side handrails purchased in 1959, converted to bi/tri level autoracks in late 1960 using W&K frames

F-70-15 : GATC class G-85 purchased in 1960, no Clejan capabilities

F-70-18 : GATC class C-85 purchased in 1960, sent back and rebuilt by GATC in early 1961 to G-85 (renumbered too)

F-70-19 : GATC class R-85 purchased in 1960 from New Haven (built in 1958), converted to bi/tri level autoracks in 1961 using W&K frames

F-70-22 : GATC class G-85 purchased in 1961, no Clejan capabilities

F-70-24 : GATC class G-85 purchased in 1962/3, no Clejan capabilities
