Decided I'm too cheap to be a Bronco's bandwagon fan...hell I don't even have any Steelers shirts from recent time...wanna say the last ones I got are Superbowl XL champs shirts.

But I'll be in a BN "Heritage" shirt

Any one from BC, if you see a good layout that you are impressed with invite them to apply for our Vancouver Train show in the late fall, some fresh blood would be good.  Tell them everything they need to know about the show, how to register etc is on the Trains 2014 web site.
Hind sight is always better than foresight, except for lost opportunity costs.

I had a great time at the Monrow show today - took about three hours to see everything, and chatted with some old friends and some new ones (see below).  There was a strong N Scale presence including a few modular layouts.  The Mt. Rainier and UNW layouts are always worth seeing.  I met Greg Okrasinski who showed me his splendid corner module.  I didnt have my tripod with me so the photos are a little soft, but I hope they capture the excellence of his work, in particular the subdued colours:

To the left is an eastern U.S. farm scene reminiscent of where he grew up:

Iin the middle is a road which disappears deftly into the backdrop:

And to the right is a home under construction which reflects his profession as a builder:

There are three levels to the house, all superbly detailed inside.  Well done Greg!

I also enjoyed this mill scene by Ryan on the UNW layout, all of which was scratchbuilt except for the burner:

And finally, our West Coast Railwire group photo including Andrew Hutchinson, Ike (BN Freak), Tom Todd, Max Magliaro, Greg (x600), Mike (delamaize), a few others whose names I didn't get (apologies).  That's me behind the camera ( :D):

We had a good chinwag and it was fun to meet some fellow members of this forum.

Tim

P.S.  Some of us were wondering why a thread for the Timonium Show gets a sticky and a thread for Monroe doesn't - east coast favouritism obviously at work here.  :D

  Tim

Great to meet you and some of the others today at Monroe. I thought it was a great show. Seemed to be well attended today maybe because of tomorrows Super Bowl and who is playing!  LOL Maybe we can make this a yearly thing. I am the one in the upper right.

Also, gotta thank MRNS for the run time, allowing this to happen:
It was nice to have the oppurtunity to have the A4 strech it's legs!! and Yes, that is a Infamous Baconrail boxcar in the mix.

I got to run the climax on the mt division also, no pictures of that thought....

Good to meet the fellow PNW  :ashat:.

Good talking to Greg about building a gate module for the NTrak club.  Got some other ideas for modules while there.  And hearing about some future projects from Lowell Smith.

I had a great time at this show.  Glad I made the trip.
Request: To anyone in those photos, if you are not identified, or identified incorrectly, comment here to
correct it so we all know who we are.

I am the guy kneeling at the left in the front row in PRR sweatshirt.

BTW, that PRR shirt worked out.   People picked me out because very few people wear PRR garb up here in the NW.

However, at least 5 times, at swap tables, guys tried to start showing and selling me Pennsy stuff because of the
shirt, so I had to explain that it was a "decoy".    :D

Hi,

Had a great time at the show. As others have mentioned it was good to talk shop and put some faces to names. Outside, the weather held and some trains even made an appearance. I spend a fair amount of time up Stevens and in general they only run while I'm trying to sleep. All in all it made for a nice daytrip. See you guys next year.

Cheers,

Andrew Hutchinson

Apologies - I didn't write down names and couldn't remember them all so I will leave others to identify themselves if they wish to do so.

Photo identity(delamaize pic): I'm the guy holding the  sign -- right to my left is PaulP. I remember the guy on the far left (w/camera) is Tim Horton because he owns those donut shops.  :D

sorry for the late reply, I had some computer issues, now resolved, I hope.
It was great to meet some fellow PNW  :ashat: and get to share some time and some modeling stuff.
Thanks to Tim H for the kind words and nice photos of my corner. It always means much more when coming from someone whose work that I admire !
Mike, (delamaize) had some fun running a train and brought his baconrail boxcar, so we did have some "bacon" present. Only thing missing was some Conrail and some Toilet humor to make it an a$$hat extravaganza. It was also good to meet and talk East coast passenger cars with OldEastRR.
Max's Pennsy shirt injected some SPF into MT Rainier N-Scale's otherwise North West Themed ambiance, and I'm sure Ike is glad he didn't waste hard earned cash on a stupid Bronco's Shirt. ( GO HAWKS )
I'm looking forward to doing this again in the future, as the saying goes, "You just can't have enough a$$hat meetings."
Maybe next time we can go to the Buzz-Inn and have a steak together after the show.
