Most of the time the power for this industrial job, the Humko/Kraft job, was 600 and 1200 HP switch engines and an IC, side door, transfer caboose with any four wheel road switchers later. A pair of GPs whether they were 7,9, 30, or 38s were used on the Clinton-Decatur-Champaign locals which passed by these industries but did not switch them. Over the years those units came in several "flavors" of IC,ICG, GM&O, IC, WC and finally CN.
