I'm interested in this 'Fleet' concept.  For us WM modelers, there are several models out there that could be easily turned in to the 'Fleet' concept:

5- GP35s
5- GP40s
2- BL2s
4- FA-2s
5- SD35s

Updates with onboard sound also?  Any manufacturers out there watching this?  Other roads fit this model?

For anyone trying to find a reason so order some of these. Railroad Picture Archives has some pics from different places in the US in a few fun paint schemes.

Any photos of these in Chicago?

Yes, fairly recent leasers (2006-08), those are the ones I checked on RRPicturearchives.  I didn't look at the CN ones listed though.
Can't model worth a darn, but can research like an SOB.

This is a wonderful release for Canadian modellers.  I am wondering about hte NAR units - the press release identifies them as short hood forward, but the artwork shows the horn facing rearwards - will the models have the correct horn orientation or will the modeller have to change it?

Also wondering which ESU decoder is used - Select Micro with correct prime mover and horn?

The NAR units are tempting . . .

Wow those look pretty cool.
Any of them make it down to the Pacific Northwest or West Coast?

M.C. Not sure by how far down you want, but they have been seen regularly in the Vancouver area for hte past few years including here in North Vancouver during 2013.

Well done Rapido - more N Scale releases always welcome.

These 2 were being used by a shortline in Youngstown Ohio so I guess you could find these just about anywhere:

They mentioned on the web page that they've used sounds recorded from a local GMD-1 so I'd say the sounds would be accurate.

Ok; I'll try and answer a couple of questions; the sounds are as real as real gets. Jason and Dan rode a GMD1 out in Alberta and recorded the sounds. Start up, idle, running light, under load and all points in between. (The crew were awesome and Jason and Dan had a blast) there is a You Tube video of the entire experience on Rapido's channel; It's a funny and neat video - the GMD-1 stuff starts at about the 8 minute mark.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7jnQU2zetI

I don't know the exact model number of the ESU decides being used - Jason and Matt have been working in this but rest assured the sound equipped models will sound awesomspe - Jason is borderline fanatical about sound....

The NAR units will have the correct orientation of not only the horns but the detailed interior cab. The line art is pretty much a stock drawing so we didn't move the appliances or add any if the modeller applied details that will come with the model.

The BB truck version will follow the A1A version - ya can't do everything all at once.

Hope that covers it..... Except for the OTHER N scale announcement we're making at Springfield.... Oh, was that my outside voice ? Darn !  ;)

That Oregon unit has a very California Central scheme too it.
Hmmm.....

Looks like they made it down to Georgia:
