For Dapol to hurry up with the second run of the 57xx! Been almost a year since I preordered mine!
I would love to see an N-Scale GWR 'City' class engine produced, and mass-produced GWR 4-wheeled coaches.

As for U.S. N-Scale... Other than the pipe-dream PRR steamers, I don't really have any wishes...

I hope to see the production problems at DeLuxe Innovations sorted out.

Personal wish list includes correct Hunt and Schneider 53' containers, Wabash 53' Duraplate and Duraplate HD trailers, BLMA quality 48' spines, Espee correct SW1500 and AC4400CWs, extended draft gear coupler pockets.

Project wise, hope to finish my AC44 and SD70M projects and experiment with etching and RP work for some upgrades I have in mind :-)
Oh, maybe make a start on a layout and catch up with some a$$hats when I hit the US in March (WPM in San Bernadino) and Jul/Aug for USA & Canada :-)

I need to amend my list for the Athearn TankTrain in N....boy oh boy!  :D

Well, lets see.

The C425 is a high priority.
Followed by it's lesser brothers, the C424s.
Some Alco S-3 & S-1 switchers.
Some good RSDs! (LS&I would be nice!)
How about a RS-27!?!

In November 1992, at age 52, I had coronary bypass surgery and since I've had 2 heart attacks, a stint, and a stroke. Going great with no problems. All is well. During my bypass recovery my wife gave me a Bachmann Warbonnet F-7 roundy roundy set ( you know the one ). All was great as it opened my N scale career. All was good. All I really wanted was a GS-4 in Daylight livery, a cabforward, and an AC-9. Not available in plastic, only brass at the time.

Well, Kato, and Intermountain took care of two wishes. Mr. Artistic ( Jason Smith ) has taken care of the third wish. Mine is 'on its way to me ". As mark (Spookshow) said " I'm good". Thanks Jason. Should I do a build thread? It might keep me motivated.

After all that, I wish the best to each of you for the 2014 year,

Carl

We still got the P70 class, but you gotta work for them. The proper trucks are getting rare, though. Someone has to have those molds.

Didn't Atlas already do a mini Trainmaster?

Atlas did do the Fairbanks Morse H-16-44 Diesel which most people usually call the baby Trainmaster, but there are those who think the term actually is supposed to be applied to the FM H16-66 which was a 6-axle 1600HP engine, ergo a 'Baby' Trainmaster. The H16-44 has been done by both Atlas and Bachmann in different ways, but these were 4-axle 1600HP locos.

For myself, my wishlist is still the same as last year:

I would love to see Kato (or someone) do a complete Olympian Hiawatha with (hopefully) fairly accurate cars and a real Little Joe to power it.

I would also love to see Walthers snap back to consciousness and re-run the Life-like Erie-built, preferably in MILW colours.

And Atlas needs to a late phase U28B so I can have some more Milwaukee Road branchline power for the Pacific Northwest localities.

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.

Yeah, those are the railfans who used the term before Bachmann made their model and mis-named it and the internet perpetuated it.

I started modeling the CNW in 1992-ish.  I Know what a Baby Train Master is.

edit:  Here' you go -

Chicago and Northwestern Power by Patric C. Dorin published 1972.

"Type H-16-66, 1600 HP Fairbanks, Morse "Baby Trainmaster' in original paint scheme."

You got something with better credibility than that, I'm listening.

Atlas code 55 would come in handy about now. So would single-window coaches.

Wishlist? Russian Decapods, Alco S1, Southern Ry SU-class 36' truss rod boxcars, Seley hoppers, Southern and M&O wood cabooses, a 42-ton Heisler, maybe a nice Baldwin logging 2-6-2, and of course more time off from the real railroad to be able to work on my n-scale railroad!

I happen to now Pat Dorin and his information was not always accurate so it may be better to look for another source of information to quote.

I really can't think of much that I need outside of a model of new, modern, Cryo-Trans, decorated reefer in either N or HO along with an N scale, #6 switch and 19" curves for the Atlas Code 65 line of track. It also would be nice to see someone produce an N scale, generic maybe USRA light/heavy, Pacific to go with all the great passenger equipment.

But none of these are deal breakers as I have more than enough (not a lot) locomotives, rolling stock, track and structures to continue building layouts as I approach retirement.

May all of you have a great 2014 and many of your wishes come true.

No author is always accurate.  I grew up CNW, and I'm sure I could locate more published sources, that was just the easiest book to get to.   The important part here is that this was 1975.  Find me a single published source pre-1990 that calls the H-16-44 a "Baby Train Master" and I'll give it some credibility.

edit:  Anyone have an early Diesel's Spotters Guide?  That could have something.

edit:  Spring 1989 C&NWHS has a couple articles as well. (I know Historical Societies are always right either).

growing up reading MR and MRC I've never heard of a 4 axel baby trainmaster.
