Any updates from the TrainCat front on PRR Signals?

Bob had a sample of the signal head and it looks awesome. He probably will jump on tonight and answer further.

... Do you have any plans to make the USRE X72 underframe available for modelers with LL Shells??

Also "The X72 release ... Three PC and CR numbers, two WP and CN numbers.  Different schemes for all ten cars."
Would one of those CR schemes by chance be Blue?

Not at the moment but it is something we can look into.

Nope, no blue scheme. Three brown cars with different lettering schemes.

If you told Bob you were from the Railwire he would "whip it out for you". It looked awesome, and his comment was "this ain't no shapeways sh*t"

Cool and Cooler..

FWIW, I've got 30+ of these shells that I have plans to repaint in various Conrail schemes (Including Blue :) ).. and dreading the task to retruck and body mount couplers to a cruddy (LL) underframe..

An HQ underframe for such a mass produced body might not be a bad venture.  (Reference my previous Frye post)..

Free WiFi at the end of the show . . . . . . .

UPS crushed the box containing the redesigned PRR ladders so I held off. I did have a production sample of the heads with a sample of the PCB. I'll post pics as soon as I can get another SS sheet ready as I want the whole effect to be seen..

Lot's of A$$Hats stopped by to see the new items. The NH Catenary was a prototype and I am going to use a thinner metal for the X-Bracing since I immediately noticed that it was too thick. But, this is why we make prototypes. . . .

I was also showing the new SS straight and angled ladders for the new Searchlight and D-Type signals in the works. Everything had been redesigned to use a much smaller tubing yet still capable of using my new color correct LEDs.

Overall a very nice show.

Got to see Bryan's new stuff at ESM.

Got to meet Puddington and see Rapido's new stuff including the NH coaches that are coming out later this year.

Got to meet Bob over at Traincat as he "talked" me into buying one of his new N scale electrical sub stations (more later when I build it).

Got to talk to Cory at Atlas and harass him about code 55 track.

Got to talk to Matt at FVM about their new SD70Aces.

Overall a good show.

John

Any good info on the ACe's?

Thank goodness! I didn't think Bryan would waste the opportunity on such an oddball.

Did anyone announce a RTR K4?
Josh Surkosky

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Any good info on the ACe's?

Matt said "late spring" for the Heritage SD70Ace, by which he means late April/May.

And yes, he will be doing a boxed set with all 10 units like he did for the ES44's.

Well, I just got back from my first Springfield Show.  All I can say is Wow!, what a weekend.

I went to the show with Seusscaboose (Eric), his wife and John Hale.  We drove up Friday, with a stop in NJ to visit Tony Koester's layout.  We did the show Saturday and drove back today.  Show was a bit overwhelming; it was 2-3 times the size of the largest show I'd been to previously.  I talked to Cory at the Atlas booth, Puddington at Rapido, Matt at Fox Valley, Bryan as ESM, plus many others.  Bob at TrainCat and Dave at Deluxe were deep in conversation both times I went past their booths, so I didn't get a chance to talk to them.

News from the various manufactuers -
Arnold/Rivarossi - said the N U25C model is to run at the Nurnburg show this week.
Atlas - Code 55  flex is in production, switches will follow.  They were handing out their Jan-Jun 2014 catalog (more on that later).
Bachmann - Will continue releasingnew stuff in N-scale.  They have 2 large (but non-articulated) steamers in development.
BLI - Next release of the Alco PA/PB is imminent.
ESM - Announced X65, X72 & Well Car
FVM - Still catching up with what's in the pipeline. SD70Ace's due late spring, Canstock cars shipped last week, and preproduction wagontop caboose due in about 4 weeks.
Micro-Trains - Officially announced HW diner (PRR D-78).  Eric Smith said it would be "late summer" before it arrives.  Next up is HW baggage car, which we probably won't see till early 2015; he said they have decided on which prototype to use, but he couldn't remember which one.  Single window coaches are also in the queue.
Rapido - Announced Osgood Bradley coaches
Walthers - looking at another release of the GP38-2.  Donut shop recently released in HO will be coming to N.

Concor, Deluxe and Intermountain were also there, but I didn't see anything we didn't already know about on their displays.

Photos and stuff later.

Tim

Edit: I forgot to mention Kato - they said Autoracks should ship in about 4 weeks.
