Mark, you could have made this thread into a poll. It would be much easier to see the results.  :|
You could have made "other" one of the options for people to pick.

Yo Pete, instead of wasting your valuable time critiquing my threads, shouldn't you be taking apart your Sakatsu Big Boy for me??   ;)

Cheers!

P.S. Seriously, J/K  :D

FVM GE's

I know I am out in a limb here

1) NOT kato and it runs out if the box just as good
2) they jumped on the heritage bandwagon and delivered
3) the 8pin decoder took me 10 seconds to install

In my book, it's the best engine I bought in 2013, and I own or have seen all others.

Ps Bachman gets props.... They're dual decoders mentality should be cloned

The EM-1 for sure. It looks good, it runs good and it shows, that even an oddball like the EM-1 sells well. Should give some hope for other even more popular steamers (which I won't mention  :D )

My vote is for the FVM GP60's.   It's the only locomotive I bought for starters.   But even when placed up against recent purchases, they outclass almost everything...especially other 4-axle power.

EM-1

What he said, the Atlas American is let down by the shallow relief on the drivers.

I guess technically yes, although they haven't really worked their way through the distribution chain quite yet.

I wonder if Atlas did that to add whatever little bit of weight they could for such a diminutive locomotive?

Kato NS heritage Wabash SD70Ace. Nice looking engine.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.
