Is that a raised plywood floor?

 Yes it is. The mushroom side is raised 19" above the concrete.

Any reason for raising it?  If you drop those little N-scale parts it would be pain to pick them up.

 It is a mushroom layout. The layout starts at 52" above the concrete floor and raises to 80" off the concrete floor. If I didn't raise the floor, it would be very hard to operate trains without a ladder.

The RR needs something for the extended tail track for switching the Klopper treatment plant at Adelaide (west Oroville). High Sierra planning mill will be up in this area too. I'll use building flats for the treatment buildings. The track will be somewhat as pictured. There will be structures down where the lower tracks are, and the RR needs this done on the cheap. With all the wood around northern Cali and with the treatment plant right here. Wood is the choice to get it done quickly. I'll have to build the lower structures once I have the trestle built, and see how much room there is for them.























 I think High Sierra planning mill will go on this spur.

 The trestle build is on hold for now.
 When I did the layout extension last summer, I had to move the laser cutter and I've never got it set back up yet. When I built the house, I put up the cheapest paneling I could find at the time in the lounge area, so we could get closed on the house. During the extension project, I rocked the common wall and some of the other 2 walls. Where I'm going to set the laser up is on one of the other walls, so I'm been working on get them rocked and finished.

 Almost finished. Just need a quick sand in a few spots.









 Hope to get it painted tomorrow, start on the workbench and install the exaust vent piping. I have a airline already ran from the shop compressor to the layout room, so I'll need to "T" into it and run another line to the bench area.

 Got it painted and decided to go ahead and finish the other walls while I'm at it.









  This is the common wall of the new layout extension and where the entry door to the layout room.
Above the inset area on the layout side is where "Clio Trestle" will be.

It all rocked and ready for tape and mud.


















 Just need to fill a few spots and it'll be ready for primer and paint

Hmm, I don't think you sheetrocked over that electrical panel so I must be seeing it wrong.    I'm impressed with the speed you get things done.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one.  I'm hoping it's a White Balance issue with the camera.

 Got three of the wall done in the lounge area. Built a table for the laser cutter and a shelf above it for cutting stock.
Still need to finish the last wall and install the drop ceiling.

 I just wish I new how to get the color corrected (I'm pretty sure that it's the LED lights). I choose the color to accent the pictures.

See if your camera has a Custom White Balance function.  Check it in the manual and follow the instructions on how to set it.

If not, make sure it's set to Auto and not Sunlight or Tungsten or Florescent, etc.

Really nice progress Rod, but that overhang looks like a real head banger for anyone getting up from that couch.  I think you'll need to provide 's for your guests.
