 Thanks Guys,

Mike, "pressure" what's that??? That is when I'm at my best.

Rick. hope to see you here.

Ok I got subroadbed all the way to Clio Trestle with micore and cork almost there.

Working on the track today before I have to go back out on the road.

Making sure I have everything to build Clio trestle.

Great work! I've always been fond of the FRC, but I never had enough space to keep grades to 1% (I'm not a big helix fan).

Nice to know Micore is still available too. I hadn't worked with it years, and except for the occasional times hitting a piece of slag (with the jigsaw or router when lapping), it sure makes for some really smooth and quiet subroadbed. :)

Cheers!

Micore is great. I use a utility knife to cut mine so I don't have all that fiberglass dust floating around.

I got track laid from Keddie to where Clio Trestle will go.

Last week I found some 5050 smd, natural white, light strings, that a guy had on sale for $8.64 each and free shipping. I bought the last 10 that he had.
I like these a lot better than the warm whites, so I'll be doing the whole layout with these. I need to find a better way to mount them when I get ready to mount them permanently. I have a few ideas and will work on that later.

That turnout into the crossover on the left looks a bit off. It seems to be shifted to the right relative to the roadbed. There also seems to be an S-curve off the normal route, and a nasty kink off the reverse route. Is that in permanently?

Yea, I know that I need to rework that area.

Thanks Peter. I've been watching your layout build too and it coming along nicely.

I see we both have a scene based on Williams Loop on our layouts. I carved foam tonight to attempt to make the tunnel there tonight.  Somewhere a turkey is laughing.

Well it has been somewhat a busy week, but did get some work done on the layout.

Coming off the helix (Reno) headed toward Portola. It is ready for cork and track.

Will get a backdrop up once the track is laid.

Looking east from Portola to the helix. It also ready for cork and track.
The second little bit of roadbed you see just behind the studs is for a loads in - empty out operation, if I can find something that suits the area.

  Portola
Need to get one more sheet of Micore to get Portola finished and ready for cork and track. Going to go into KC in a little bit to get the Micore.

Need to get the subroadbed cut and installed on this part, Portola to Clio trestle.

I'm going to build Clio Trestle on a module that I can build at the bench and then install. I need to get a couple more sheets of hardboard to finish up the backdrops.

Tonight I have a couple of members of one of the local clubs coming out to help solder up wiring harnesses for the switch machines in Oroville yard.
