How did you make yours? I was looking at your excellent macro photograph and the lids are so detailed, I can't figure out how you'd scratch build such details so perfectly. Even with a laser, yours feel a whole scale or two bigger than mine just from the detail/quality.

I really love what you are doing with these buildings and structures. The have a contemporary, natural look to them, and yet they all look distinct.

Thanks for kind words!
Here's some more pictures. Got the windows in finally. Really this is a very simple building, the angle made it a little tricky but it's still just a box with a smaller box on top. Painted the windows a burnt umber. Also here's where the building will go. Yes I know I need a backdrop...
There's enough space for a lane between the elevated track foundation and the building, so I'm going to angle the warehouse wall to be parallel to the back of this new building for both a more natural look and space behind the building for a little parking.
PS
Here's an overview of this 3rd of the layout now. Got some more track in, including the big ramp.

I would make the backdrop there a removable panel, so you can still use the window as necessary.
It is looking great. All the buildings are originals- maybe what makes it look so real to my eye is that I have not seen those structures so many other places. Thanks for sharing all of this.

Yeah just need to figure out a simple light backdrop that won't warp.

The rest of my backdrop is styrene sheet just hanging from a simple frame. I might do something similar. A single piece of wood spanning the window that rests in little slots and the backdrop hanging from it and down into a little slot.

Here's some recent pics and new developments.
A curve that was keeping me up at night and on my mind all day at work ended up being a 5-min fix.
The longest siding in my little yard is juuust barely big enough to hold all my double-stacks. Not that they'll ever go there, will have a proper container terminal for them.
An "artistic" (ie I don't know how to focus properly)
A new tram arrived in the mail! It's very nice, but I think I'm going to try to re-paint both my trams one day. When you look super closely you can see japanese on it and I'd love to develop my own transit logo and paint scheme. But that's not until I develop my skill further...

I love trams. I spent the autumn riding them daily in Germany, what a blast. The layout is coming together very nicely.

As someone else mentioned... what techniques are you using to get those fine details on your buildings? Are they scratchbuilt?

When you bought the tram, was the power chassis separate? I can't figure it out from the website.
Close enough to a Variobahn that I might do it up in Potsdam paint.

Arg!!! Now this is coming out

This is far closer to what I wanted, the tram I got is a bit too small for my city. Still, at about $50 for both the tram and the motor these are very affordable.
