A new laser cut building is taking shape, this time I experimented with a staircase that turned out so nice I made it the centrepiece of the building.

Dude!  That is seriously slick!  It's sort of modern Eurporean, sort of early 1980's "soft" Brutalism . . . me gusta mucho!

It's actually based on a 1950's medical building near my home.  Was going for a mid-century feel.

Then I'd say you nailed it.

More progress, still not happy with the roof and that elevator machine room needs some help as well.  Was all done by hand rather than a laser so it's not laser-perfect.

Also started laying some materials to build up the road level to that of the tracks.

Honestly I liked it before you added the elevator house.  I think the issue is the obvious seams on an otherwise well done building.  you need some sort of seam filler.

Yeah that's just a hastily painted gray box for now.  I'll be sanding down some edges and filling in the gaps before it gets more paint and details.  The mechanical penthouse is absolutely needed as there isn't much room in the bottom floor for the things this building would need.  I guess I could say it had a basement.  I think it will all look good once it's tidied up and finished.

Looks good.
Drainage pipes are one way to mask seams near corners.

Inspired by Mr. Green, I made a dumple my self!  Wrong glue and a messy assembly job but I think it turned out pretty ok.  Slap some paint on it and it will be ready to go down on alley.
