I think your wife is just happy you're not trying to squeeze your benchwork out your window  :scared:
Glad it worked out, elevations and all.

A light misting of white here and there along the bottom 1/4 will go groovy!

She loves helping and loves my buildings.  Like me she kinda hates this messy benchwork phase.  Sometimes if she was stressed she'd just come and sit and look at my old layout and it would calm her down as she'd imagine she lived in such a pretty city.  Another friend had a big stupid fight with his boyfriend and was reallly angry but he just plopped him self down in front of these tiny cute buildings and it calmed him right down saying it reminded him of Hayao Miyazaki cartoons (dude does love european architecture).  I hadn't seen about half of them so I watched Kiki's delivery service and fell in love,  the city looked and felt exactly like Prague if Prague was a seaside town.  I'm actually going to try to base a building or two if I can off some Miyazaki locations just for my friend.  Maybe do the bakery or clock tower from Kiki's Delivery Service.

As much as this hobby can cause stress, it can also be very therapeutic to people !

And your tram on the other side could pass by YuBaba's Bathhouse into it's hidden return loop:

Or maybe too big for the scene  :D

Well, now that you figured out the backdrop you'll probably have some buildings up and trains running soon.
Rock (and vac) on!

Wait,
Your wife helps clean the train room and finds solice among its creations?  She doesn't just pile stuff in there because "it needs a home and there's nowhere else to put it?"

Diggin' the laser work, and really like the smallish layout.

Smallish??  It's a full room-filling 11x11 layout.  I guess size is relative.

That light blue is fairly common for bridges around here, I think it was a really cheap paint colour at a time and they stuck with it.  The colour inside the arches are determined by the tenants of those spaces and they've made some... questionable choices.  I think it's some sort of tech startup and they thought they were being whimsical or something.

In case anyone's reading, here's some updated pictures.  Got a lot more track down and a good portion of my "yard ladder" installed.

I really like how this is developing.  Your buildings and structures are great.  Thanks for sharing.
