Woot woot!

I saw the prototyped version last year in Springfield. Can't wait till these are on the boat. Hows the X72 project coming? I could use a few more.

I never thought I would see this car in N!  This car will be the first rendition of the Despatch Shop style end and roof in N scale.  These cars roamed all of North America with products from shippers in NYC, PC, CR, LV, and P&LE service areas.  Everyone can use them.  Thank you Bryan for green lighting this model.

I'm sure the suggestions will come on droves now that there is an opening on the design books.

Carbon      Black       Car

Or maybe the more obscure Cabot Corp car- the bright green Cab-O-Sil cars.

Have your guys do the X58s and X65s in HO.

Sizemore:  It IS "Eastern" Seaboard Models, after all...

Lee Weldon:  No, but he's doing CB&Q for the Midwest and BN modelers.

Bryan:  If you want to make the Midwest folks even happier, it looks like the CB&Q XM-4 double plug door cars are almost identical to the XL-14 (X-58) cars, except for the sides.  I DON'T have a roof view, though, so can't be sure they used the same roof.  Given that almost all CB&Q built cars in the 60s used diagonal panel roofs, it's likely these do.  Numbers are 47500-47789 and 49000-49399.  Also, they are supposed to be an NP design, but I haven't found any information on the NP version.

No, I don't expect to see these any time soon, but it is an option, and would use much of your existing tooling.

We've got another pair of midwest surprises appearing in the next couple of X58 releases, if we can ever get the 2013 batch to market.  8)  Regarding an XM-4, there would have to be an ample amount of potential roadnames to justify new side slides for the X58 tool.  We would have tooled true XML-14 sides if more than three schemes could have been released on it.

Bryan:  As far as I know, there are only four, or maybe five, schemes for the XM-4.  The Q had all red, red with a white door, and green, the BN had their green, and (maybe) the NP, which I have no information on.  Not really much of a sales base, unless another Midwest road shows up with them.  I know the GN didn't own any.  Similar cars were owned by other roads, with the small grain loading doors in the main door, but each road seems to have had their own designs.

Unfortunately not enough roads/schemes for which to invest another $5G into the X58 tooling.  Maybe after it's fully amortized, but that's a ways off.
