No I have not. The website shows that it was "just released".  Nice to see those kits offered in N scale!

Yeah, looking at all the replies, it seems that FloridaBoy had this kind of backwards.

He said 50's and 60's.  I think most of these date earlier than that.

I think most of those talked about's construction predates the 50's and 60's, though many of those examples  could still certainly be operating in rural areas across the country into the 1970's and perhaps beyond.

Right.  If I say I want more 60's era freight cars, I don't mean one's built in the 40's that are still around.

Eja:  Many rural areas in Appalachia and parts of the West didn't have reliable electricity until after World War II.  Some would argue that, given the frequency of power outages due to wind or ice storms, rural Appalachia doesn't have reliable electricity today.  Most people in the area still keep candles, kerosene lamps, or electric lanterns for emergencies.

I am really, promise,  not trying to be argumentative here but WW II ended in 1945.  My comments were in response to the original question regarding 1950's gas stations.,

PS.  I love the information we learn in this type of discussion.

Seems to me that there are even more old time "general store" type structures out there than there are old time gas stations. If you want a general store with pumps out front, build a general store kit and put pumps in front of it  :D

Clunky and not the best but a start for a semi-modern station. (Bachmann Shell)

http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/160-45904

Very modern BP station:

More 70's -80's stuff: (Model Power Exxon)

http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/490-2586

Vollmer, could be used for 60's to 70's.

There are a few more out there from the other side of the pond that qualify as modern also.

This most certainly an old classic, restored by the City of Lebanon, OH, and right beside the LM&M excursion railroad:

It's just so purty.  It's quite a little gem.

That reminds me of this:

I so want one in N scale - and the original in West Allis, WI is not too far from my in-laws.
