Electricity was unavailable, unreliable, or expensive in rural areas,
Floradaboy:I'll bet you are remembering a different kind of gas station. Perhaps more like the country store that also sold gas. Lots of nice kits mentioned in this thread, but I don;t see any where one could get a soda pop.Robwill84Sorry, I can't accept something with Class of 62" on it as old !! And I seem to remember gas cost more than $0.23 per gal at the time. More like an exorbitant $0.32, perhaps.nkalanaga How far back are we talking here (or is it a location issue??
Depots by John makes a good one - Radtke’s Filling Station. It is cast urethane but is open inside unlike some of their station models that are solid. It has decals for Shell, Mobilgas, Sinclair, Penzoil, Dixie and Phillips 66 signs. It is listed towards the bottom of the page.http://depotsbyjohn.com/kitspg3.html
You beat me to the Depots by John. Just outside of the little town I grew up in was an identical station . I will make mine into a D-X station as soon as I can find signage. Randy
I've never tried it. Might be a good time to learn. Randy
It would seem to me that the only gas stations available are "old timer"... Demand or not, that's a majority of whats available for gas stations in any scale isn't it?
