It seems that they were produced from 1963-1972. Gotta love a website called "tractor data": http://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/000/0/6/64-john-deere-4020.html
I would be interested in a modern machine if produced. The model discussed here is to old for my era, so I'd like to see a current model produced.
If you do the 4020s I'll suggest to offer the different variations; narrow and wide (front wheel track), dual rear wheels and the factory cab all of which should be able to work off the same base model if designed for them ahead of time. There were also front end loader attachments from JD and after market cabs along with of course, the other farming attachments.Jason
For the time being, I think that there's enough interest for me to begin to explore the possibilities of making the basic tractor...
one has to wonder where to draw the line on options.

I'm assuming these will be unpainted. So a factory cab could come much later as an etched part.Jason
Jim, might I suggest the wide track version? They were more popular than the narrow "V" front wheels..
I don't think I've ever found production numbers. Where did you get that from?Jason
