First up, a northbound stack train crosses the MD/PA line heading towards Chambersburg intermodal yard.

#5252 pulls its manifest to the crest of Jacks Mountain at Highfield, PA and begins its descent down the western slope heading to Hagerstown, MD.

CN train 332 nearing it's destination of Mac Yard with an uncommon visitor to Toronto in the form of EJ&E SD38-3 674. The second unit is a former Oakway SD60:

Going back a few years to when the Northlander still ran, shot of it arriving at the station in Huntsville, ON., as seen through the station window:

A local business man made his dream come true and bought a restored steamer and placed it in front of his business, accessible for everyone.

Some info about the class 52 steamer:

Went to Enola in search of the Southern (Heritage) engine which was reported to be in town, but did not see it.  However, I did catch a freight coming west across the Rockville Bridge, with a leaser as the second unit.  Note the kayaker getting a fish-eye view.

I also caught this train today, photographed here in Dauphin:

Looks like #6547 has not been a priority for the NS paint shop.  It's still in its HLCX paint scheme from when it was purchased for the NS fleet in May, 2011.  However its performance that counts and it looks like its doing what it was bought to do.   If I had a SD60 to build for a NS based layout, I would seriously consider modeling this for my fleet to have something different.

It was busy around Benning Road in DC today. We saw two north bounds - one stack, ones long mixed- as well as a stack and juice headed south. Too far away and too cold for pics.

What a small world!!   Even smaller when one considers that you were headed for Gettysburg, where I lived for a while back in the '90's.
