At first glance it compares very favorably with an M1a/b rather than an M1.  The 200 M1a/b did not have external steam delivery pipes at the smokebox.

The 101 M1 engines did have those steam delivery pipes like your model but had a vastly different configuration on the fireman's side.

Did you add the pipes or were they present in the master?

I am seeing a number of engines with a similar arrangements and steam pipes.  For instance #6716

6716 doesn't have the external steam pipes.  It's an M1b.  The steam delivery pipes I mean are the ones that come out perpendicular from the side of the smoke box at an angle and connect to the top of the cylinders.  M1a/b locos didn't have them.

It's certainly not a show stopper, but I'm just a little surprised the master had the steam pipes from the M1 but the M1a/b cross compound air pump configuration.

FWIW, the M1a/b class (sans steam pipes) outnumber the M1 class 2 to 1.

Dave- I was struck on thinking you were talking about the feed water pipes.  Anyways here is the corrected engine with many details still to go.

Perfection.

I've made the sign of the Keystone.

Jason:
Wow, looks great!  Paint looks just right.  Smoke box and fire box were painted with heat resistant dark graphite paint.  Tender deck is PRR freight car color, and cab roof was a mix of black and freight car color.  Cab roof and tender deck were often heavily coated with cinders and coal dust.

Jason,
It is a very fine model indeed.  Since this is Railwire, and we steamheads like to torment each other   :D   I do have
a few suggestions.

Below the front edge of the firebox, on the left side, there is an equipment box.  Below that, there are two
small canister-looking things (I don't know what they are).  Anyway, it looks to me from prototype photos
like there should be a shelf under that equipment box.  It looks more "boxed in" than yours does.

At the top, middle of the cylinders, stuck in there just under the walkway (between the top of the cylinder and
the underside of the walkway) there should be those little relief valves (the circular shaped things
with the little cross-shaped faces).   At least, I think they are relief valves of some kind.   They are
real Pennsy spotting features, and I think that the GHQ L1 parts include them, so you could use those.

It also looks like the walkway extends a little far past the front edge of the cylinders.

-------
I hope you realize that these are minor things, and you have made a really excellent model.  I intend these
nit picky little criticisms only so you can check or add some extra details if you wish.  Either way, it's a great job!

Jason, as an UP and SP modeler, you make wonderful PRR steamers!

Hey thanks guys!

Perhaps one day you will let me join your CRAZY CLUB :D

Max I appreciate it!
I am missing what you are speaking of on the boxed in portion on the cylinders under the fireman's running boards and the running boards appear to be in the correct length as compared to this proto pic.  Of course, I don't have any books on Pennsy M1's, so please show a picture of a "Pennsy" Built M1 with these details.  Thanks for the help.

Due to the heavy traffic and the need for additional motive power, Union Pacific is examining Altoona Works Pennsy steamer power for a possible purchase.
