From the November newsletter from Kato:

Maersk Maxi-I with 10x Maersk 40' containers
TTX (new scheme) Maxi-IV with 6x 53' UMAX containers.

Enjoy and patch away ;-)

Very pleased about the new logo IV's and the UMAX.  A grungy Maersk is probably also in the cards.  :)   Next up for Kato should be a Trinity or NSC 53' well set.  (Not holding my breath though.)

On a totally unrelated note, ExactRail sent email a few days ago saying the bulkhead flats are due in a few weeks.  Check one more off my top 5 list.

Patch away is right!   :)  And I can get the Maersk containers I need, bonus.

The Maersk blue really stands out in a train. Did SP buy them all and patch them?

Just followed your link and see a bright RED repaint as SP 513511. I think I'm going to have to paint one of my yellow TTX to this!

Arrggh, I can't believe that in the six+ years since I started my Maersk kitbash of a Deluxe, I never finished it and now Kato has beaten me to the punch!

Anyway, of course I'll be ordering one.  Thank goodness for all the overtime pay lately.

I seem to recall some also ended up with Santa Fe (and then BNSF) under the SFLC reporting mark.

Those Maxi-IV units would be welcome, but I have no use for the UMAX containers.  What to do... I really love the Kato well cars.

U Max is spotted running on NS pennsy mainline, so I'll pick them up for sure.  I also like the idea of a beat up, patched up string of Maersk Maxi I's

Now where are those green and red HUB containers?  :)

As far as I can tell, this UMAX train stretches to ∞.  :)

Heh, I've never seen one in Canada. Actually, I have not seen a solid train of any container label.  Must be a US thing  :)

Seemed
common to have 90% APL trains out of POLALB back in the day.  Maersk and others also seemed to have nearly solid 'pedigree' container trains that had priority over the 'mongrel' containers coming off the same ships...

Gary,  I believe this was from the delivery of the Umax containers - lots of photos on Trainorders if I recall of several solid trains....

Another factoid:  back in the 1990's NYK owned 10-15% of Southern Pacific  (the RSP stock symbol that was merged with UP).  NYK may still
be a big UP shareholder for all I know...

Isn't UMAX a joint UP/CSX operation?  See them all the time on CSX trains in MD.
