Club running is acceptable. I would run it over an NJS N-Trak layout, but that would add more time onto how long it'll take me to get it mailed out to the first host, which subsequently will be the paint-shop, unless a transfer road steps in.

There were logs included with both Atlas and Trainboard cars. They were handwritten: when the car was received, what railroad it traveled, when it was forwarded to the next road. All the logs got lost. Of course this was way back in 2003-2004, when dinosaurs were still a threat to mailmen.

Just a bit of an update.
To properly initiate the sequence of events, the first few stops that the car shall make is, after the builder's plant (me), it will then get transferred to the paint-shop, after which it will still need trucks and couplers.
In the couplers department, our own Gary H. has volunteered to install Bowser Z-scale couplers with the etched pockets.

As for trucks, I think that it would be fitting to go with either MT roller bearing trucks and FVM metal wheelsets, or BLMA trucks and their own metal wheelsets.

I feel that such details need to be sorted out before the car begins to be interchanged between s.
We have had a few offers for painting and decaling the car, but I'm looking to see if either one of those paint-shops can furnish the trucks (I have FVM metal wheelsets that I am willing to contribute) or if trucks needs to be the stop in between paint and couplers.

I have a cure to having the car going AWOL , which almost always happen .

1 ... Have a The Railway Forum car ( era friendly and not looking like it is too plastered with crap to be in a prototype train ) produced , 100 of them or so .
2 ... Sell them to members only .
3 ... Add the members name , state , and pikes name , and state  to the list of pikes it was showcased on The Weekend Update .
4 ... Get over the fact that it's not one car mailed to member by member .

Or plan B

Sell a The Railwire decal to members and see what people do with it . Decal comes in many sizes and at least 2 colors per sheet .  I like this idea the best .

Perhaps as a second go-round. 
The wheels are currently in motion and I'm already forming up an order for the first few interchanges to get the car outshopped and out on the road.
The car is of no special meaning as it sits now.
The point is to add meaning throughout the journey.
I find that the Railwire is quite the close-knit forum so if the car seems to "disappear" it would probably not be without good reason.
Should it go missing for too long, I'm sure appropriate  posies would be formed.

This isn't rocket science; I got a car around the world remember, with "a little help from my friends"... and that's the key; it's "friends" and "fun" not another example of people turning our hobby into a life or death struggle..... run the car, take a snap and mail it to the next fellow.... it's really simple if ya think about it.....

This isn't rocket science; I got a car around the world remember, with "a little help from my friends"... and that's the key; it's "friends" and "fun" not another example of people turning our hobby into a life or death struggle..... run the car, take a snap and mail it to the next fellow.... it's really simple if ya think about it..... 

Exactly. If it gets lost, so be it, at least we have a record of the journey it made.
We have at least one interested person who is outside North America, so the Interchange Network is now global.

After all, the intention is to bring fellow modelers together.
