Okay Micro Trains...time to start injecting your couplers in a light/medium warm gray rather than shiny midnight black.

Just sayin'....   :D

Thanks for the nice notes guys.  Still trying to feel out what the volume is on orders and I can order plastic to match. Biggest thorn in my side is running out of product.  Good point on trucks and couplers...going forward I am ordering them pre tinted a more natural color.  Also working on a way to mass produce wheel sets rusted in the center and bright on the outsides...I do this on my own cars by masking and spraying our silver wheel sets.  Most of the work I do on the computer and then use a number of process to get the effect. Still have lots to learn, but am feeling more comfortable about the effect.  I also have a talented team of folks dedicated to executing these projects with me and I see this segment of our company growing.   I have some cool stuff in the works and I really appreciate the support here on Railwire.

Daniel:  What on (or off) Earth is this top picture supposed to be?  The bottom one looks like The Muppets, but the top one I can't place.  Norad?  Starfleet Command?

Whatever it is, looking at it for more than 10 seconds makes me dizzy!  I wonder if Daniel has the same reaction...   I'm also glad that Ian decided to remove his similar nausea-inducing images from his posts.

Please feel free to send Daniel a PM requesting that he change his (annoying) signature.   :RUEffinKiddingMe:  In the meantime, I've stripped out the dizzying copies of it posted here...

BTW, I think it's the Fox News nerve center.

Does look like it, doesn't it?  I tried (just now) to edit my previous post to remove the copied link completely, and the "modify" option is gone.  I'm sorry if anyone was harmed by it.

Not your fault N Kalanga.  Looks like Gary took care of the problem anyway.

Fox News nerve center?  Must be true as that clip sure hit a nerve!  :)  Fair and balanced news - what else can one ask for?  :|

Daniel:  please change your annoying animated signature back to an annoying static emo-based lyrical signature.  Your Pal,  :tommann:

edit:  sorry, thought this was a pm.

I see now why I couldn't modify my post earlier.  Apparently there is a limited window for modifications after which the posts are "locked".  Hadn't noticed that before...and not a bad idea at all.

OK, I'll let this get back on topic.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Got my Frisco car today to add to my Halloween train.  Graffiti artists have been busy

Got mine (the Frisco and all the Superior Well Services) today from Pete.

Apparently Joe can take constructive criticism at light speed.  Because no bright unnatural colors on trucks or couplers on any of the cars. The Superior cars had their couplers, from what I could see through the plastic box, seemingly airbrushed a rust color that befit the color of the connected trucks, giving it a convincing appearance.  The Frisco car appeared to have a very nice dark grey airbrushed trucks and couplers, as there was apparent specks of overspray on the magnematic 'air hose' as it was barely it's normal copper color.

The colors are really, really good.  As is, they're better than 99.999% of weathering jobs out there.  With a hit of a really light wash and some dullcote to give the car some 'texture', I daresay this would rival any weathering from anyone out there at anything but extremely close scrutiny of an individual car.  As part of a scene/train, no way anyone could tell this wasn't an expensive custom job or the result of many hours of work.

I really appreciate the support here on Railwire.

Joe .. thanks .. one of the things about RW is "better modeling through peer pressure" .. I must say, you get a lot of peer pressure here .. but it's apparent that you are taking it in the spirit offered .. these new cars are getting to be really good .. thanks ..
