Several points,

1 Decals are available, but they're dry transfers from CDS. I have some for the G22, H30, and the K7. Mount Vernon  shops has water slide decals for the N6.

2 I thought DKS was going to do the decals.

3 Peteski offered to do the decals, but backed out do to possible DKS involvement. Maybe Peteski needs to be asked to do this, since he aleady offered.

4 Can decal artwork for the GRa be made available?

5 Any chance for an H32?  :D :P :D
Never argue with idiots; they'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

I know this sounds mean and awful, but I don't know any other way to phrase it...so please don't take offense.

Since I don't own--or plan to own any time soon--a decal printer, kits without available decals are not really of any use to me.  If a separate company like Microscale offers them, that's great, but neither the G22 nor the H30 series have decals readily available.  I keep hearing that someone plans to do the G22 decals (which is great, since I have one), but so far it's been talk.  I don't relish the idea of "kitbashing" decals for an H30 since the dim data would have to be cut from individual letters and numbers less than a millimeter tall.

EDIT:  Bob, I see the artwork; that's awesome!  I have no idea how one would turn those drawings into decals even if I had the printer, though.  How do you separate the color from the letters?

You'd need an Alps printer for the white decals.  But black lettering can be output onto decal paper with a laser or inkjet printer.  Clear film decal paper is available from Micro-Mark.  Very doable for the majority of TRW list members.

Right, I know...  Although I want at least 1 gray H30, I also want at least one in freight car red.  The G22 also needs white, obviously.

I missed this...  CDS has dry transfers for both?  Not a huge fan of dry transfers but that sure beats nothing at all!

I was anticipating using Microscale decals to do my N6B.

Yes, but you can at least get one of the H30s on the rails rather easily. ;)

You can always apply the dry transfers to clear decal film.

Bryan and Dave:  I've used a lot of CDS transfers, and most of mine have been put on decal film.  The paper backing is just too stiff to work around N scale details, and cutting it apart means too many little pieces to try to hold.  About the only place I use them as dry transfers is on relatively smooth-sided cars, with no ribs or deep details.

On the other hand, if you find a car/transfer combination where the numbers are the same font, they're much easier than decals for renumbering a duplicate.

Hey don't forget the GRa's...

I wasn't very impressed with this CDS set:

Actually doing the GRa's artwork right now.

Now the bad news, I will only be releasing 17 GRa's for sure with the slight possibility of 34 as a max. Sorry, there are good reasons that I cannot go into right now.

I've had good luck sending my files over to Tango Papa for printing.  I don't have the desire to fight with an Alps printer myself, so I send them off for printing elsewhere.

For $25 or so Bob could send the file over there and then separate the sheet for individuals!

Bob, sign me up for a GRa please.  They were still kicking in the 50s.

I know they were used for hauling manure to the mushroom farms on the Octoraro Branch.  That's make for a unique load!

It does sound like no one's heard anything about FVM's plans since the original announcement.
