A thank you to the Railwire community

Fellow asshats,

I want to thank you for all of your support and encouragement over the years.  I was very excited and humbled yesterday to get my author's copy of Great Model Railroads 2014.  Although it's not the first time I've seen the Juniata Division in print, making the MR annual really feels like being called up to the big leagues.  However, the layout you see in GMR is not the layout I built in 2006, prior to my joining the Railwire.

Everything that makes the layout "pop" in the magazine, such as the Supertrees, scale signals, upgraded structures, weathered equipment, etc., has all been directly attributable to or at least influenced by your inputs.  What sets this place apart is that we can give honest feedback to one another on how we can improve, and the majority of members understand the spirit in which it's offered.  Although I've not taken every piece of advice you've offered me, I've carefully considered all of it and actually taken most of it.

Lastly, were it not through you guys in the Baltimore area I never would have received the call for submissions.  So another thank you is due.

I hope as you read GMR 2014, you know that the Juniata Division is essentially a Railwire group effort, for which I'm very thankful.  I'm just the lucky bastard who gets to keep the layout.

Congrats Dave!
I can't take any credit for critiquing your layout, since I joined TRW after the A-board closed.  But I agree with what you said about the TRW - the a$$hats here provide lots of very useful info and honest comments.

Happy to have given part of the assist. When I heard the call, it sprang immediately to mind.

Now if only I could find a copy!

Congrats Dave!

I will be picking up a copy soon. Your layout is a great example of what can be done in N-Scale is a small space. I have a basement with a layout underway would love to see what you could do with a larger layout. If you are ever in Toronto I could always use some help.

I gave mad props to Railwire in my N Scale Mag feature.   :scared:

For this one I didn't mention Railwire by name since MR has its own competing forum.

Hmm... I know for a fact
that Kiz provided you
no help whatsoever...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.
