Atlas PS-1 w/8-foot door pics released

The SAL may have been the largest buyer of the PS-1 w/ 8' doors.  I doubt you'll have to wait long for a BCR scheme.  Besides, unless you're needing beer from Tampa,  this isn't a car you're going to miss too much if you model pre-70's.

The paint scheme on this car is noted as being the last of the silver schemes.  There's at least two earlier schemes (not including the different slogans) that may fit what you want.  There's one in the color guide that appears to say '59 on the shop date, but I can't read it well enough to be sure be sure.

Resurrecting this thread for a moment as it is "4th quarter 2013" and because....
I noticed on the N-Scale Supply website, they have pics of what appear to be the 2nd release of PS1s with 8' doors!
Atlas hasn't annoounced these yet, so perhaps a little sneak peek!

They were announced earlier this year.  Looking forward to the New Image B&M from this group.  The Frisco is sharp also, but it's in between my two eras.

Most of the announcements through the end of the year were in the summer catalog.  N Scale Supply jumped the gun on a bunch of stuff the last 3-4 months.

I don't know about the number series,  but the car and paint scheme made it into the 80's.

 I imagine Atlas will do the 70's style repaints at some point too.  They don't look quite as good without the serif font and black logo background.

I guess I missed the announcement! 
I found it interesting because I checked the Atlas site and they are not listed,
and N-Scale Supply doesn't have the first release of the 8' door version listed, only what would be the 2nd release?

Does anyone have a link/copy to the announcement?

Any news on the arrival date of the 1st release?

They haven't been announced yet.  They are listed in the catalog for December.

I checked the database and the SL-SF must have renumbered or purchased from another road the 27xxx series as they were not purchased new numbered as such. Or the database is in error?

FWIW, the numbers for the upcoming release are both in the 17800-18049 series and are listed as being in the "Frisco Fast Freight" scheme, but the following 3 purchases covering the 18050-19899 numbers were in the "Ship it on the Frisco" scheme. I've no idea if that is different from what is pictured, although the big "Ship it" might be a giveaway? The Atlas catalog has some of the car numbers transposed amongst the releases, but you can work out the right numbers based on the pics.
