Thanks for the heads up! I ordered some HH C420's 3 years ago, maybe even 4. I am finally excited!  :)

The photo is of a deco sample.  The artwork has been adjusted for production (just don't ask me what the actual date is, Cory is out of the office today).

Paul, when can we expect some road names on the new PS3 hoppers?
I’m not here to argue

Atlas has posted pics of the PS-1 8ft-door pilot models on their Facebook page.

Thanks for the reminder Bryan. The Atlas PS1 is now my favorite car, as many of the mid-50s 'NEW' paint schemes just make it into my 1956 time frame!
I'm certain of the NYC car, but don't know about the C&O, D&H or SAL cars

So what RRs are these cars prototypical for?

I can't read the reweigh dates either, but I can look up the build dates!

Build dates:
NYC 2-54 (part of 100 cars build with cushion underframes that were offered to several railroads (PRR X48 for example) for evaluation. Was not repeated, so not successful?)
RI    2-65
SAL  3-52  ('Silver Star'?)
UP   9-57   (should be equipped with A3 roller-bearing trucks)
C&O 9-51   (repaint - 2nd gen 'for progress', post 1954)
D&H 8-56   (original scheme?)
CNJ 10-57  (original scheme?)

If someone could confirm the reweigh dates would be appreciated

There were some tooling revisions needed from when we received the test shots.  Once these are done and we have a production date, we will make an announcement with road names, price, delivery, etc.

They are actually being loaded on the next container, so should be to us around mid-November.

Paul said the artwork has been modified on some of the cars since these pilot models were made, so we'll have to wait for the production run cars to arrive to confirm the service dates.

Cushioned underframes will have to be kitbashed into the NYC car, and the PRR X48 (which will be available shortly from Prototype N Models in November).  BLMA ASF Ride Control roller bearing trucks should be a match to prototype for the UP car.  The BLMA A-3 and Ride Control trucks with 33" wheels have the exact same bolster height and configuration as the Atlas S-2 trucks, so all three are interchangeable.

I have some of the brass pockets that Ed Etched (couldn't resist :P) and some Z scale bowser couplers for just this occassion! I'm very excited about the X48s and have already put my $$$ down.

I've been swapping in BLMA trucks as per the prototype for my previous purchases, which seems to be most of them so far, even thought the differences are minor!
I won't be buying the UP version in this run as it is past my time frame, but thought the info was interesting anyway....
Cheers,
Scott
