MOW train.  I have it all figured out!  The GP40W's will be assigned to it as well.

Touché  ;)

The end railings are actually not any thicker than many other models but beside the wire grabs and irons they certainly look oversized. Painting them white doesnt help much either. That said, no model is perfect and maybe we'll figure out a better way to do it on a future model.... I wonder if you could remove them and install wire railings as a modeller's improvement... Hmmmmmm?

Replacing them with some wire was exactly what i was thinking. Closeup photography is so unforgiving to N compared to what we actually "see" from 2 to 3 feet away.

So when are you guys announcing The Canadian in N? As well as the Turbo Train and LRCs?

I want to disable the interior light in my PSC caboose but keep the marker lights.  How do I gain access without wrecking something?

Hey Doug , the body of the caboose just pops off ,I think next time I would use round tooth picks to help separate the shell and underbody. Use extra caution there are lots of grab irons to break , especially the black grabs irons on bottom I found them to be almost invisible  against the black underbody

How many vans does a guy running -9's need, Scott? Shoving platforms don't require interior lighting

A prototype!  Looks like I'll have to tag the caboose up.

Just curious, has anybody else here who pre-ordered their caboose from Prairie Shadows online gotten theirs yet? No word on mine yet.  :?

I think I can help here.... Jeff at Prairie Shadows only received a small number of the first four road numbers of the domestic scheme. The rest is in transit to him from our factory and is expected within a month.  Such are the oddball realities of production a half a world away.... I'm sure Jeff will be burning the railway lamp oil upon their arrival to fill the orders.

Puddy; your friendly neighbourhood Rapido N scale guy....
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Jeff contacted me in October about it.  I recall there were limited road numbers in the first batch and we agreed I could wait until December since I am away.  I appreciated his efforts.

My caboose arrived today and I have to say, wow.  Even my wife was impressed.  Well done Prairie Shadows and Rapido!

The CN gondola I received was great too, looking forward to more products from these creative minds.  Truly the golden era for Canadian n scale modellers.  Now all we need is FVM to come up with those -2 units (SD70M-2, the real -2 project!).

The Prairie Shadows cars are available?  Their website doesn't show them as in stock.

My fleet arrived yesterday

I couldn't say enough good things about them if I had all day. Especially the bulkhead flat (not that there is any less praise for the gon) because it's such a needed car for CN modelers from the 70's onward. No clue what they've got planned for their next car, but I'm already saving up for it.

I just spent a pleasant half hour admiring the van and playing with the magnetic-actuated lights.  Mine seems to be more of a golden color compared to some early reports of a harsher blue tone.  Not sure if they changed this.

Are those bulkheads still used for lumber, or are they replaced by the centerbeams?  I have to be cautious with my funds, need to pay for a train of 18 potash cars this summer  :D

So you got yours to turn on and off? I must be really dense because I've tried every version of the instructions for using that wand I can think of to no avail.
