Do any of these memberships include an a$$hat I can wear?

Good idea!  I'll take that up with Tom.  In the meantime, short-term editing should soon be re-enabled; and if anyone really needs to edit a locked post, either Report the post with a note explaining the situation (this gets broadcast to all admins & mods) or send one of us a PM and we'll take care of it.

DKS: I'm not rewriting history - just making it easier to understand. The meaning is unchanged - only the way it is presented.

Wow DKS!  That's deep!  This must be the moderator's motto. ;)

Not quite knee jerk. Its something we have been discussing for some time (in some past instances) as several times people have done this d-bag move and it leaves a awkward thread.

HA!  :D

That is entirely too true! I can suppose another forum you were on did this. I was a mod on a big automobile-related board, the site owner was bought-out, and the new ownership did exactly this, created a bunch of hoo-haw paid membership levels. The "benefits" didn't quite rise to changes in the ability to edit, etc., but the added problems it created with managing the board is why I turned in my keys to the executive washroom.

It added a bunch to my work, and they only increased my pay by 100X. As in 100 x $0 still equals $0. :|

We'll have a solve for this. The software allows you to have exemptions based on forum or thread.

If there is a fix in place I don't see it. I don't have my "modify" button to let me update my Sss index thread. Does this mean that each time I want to update it that I should report it to a mod? I'm sure that would get old quickly because I have been updating daily. I will still go with whatever is recommended.

Hold on, jeesh. Its not a blanket thing that can be done. Threads need to have permissions adjusted individually... and we all have full time jobs.
