As for the added road .... do you need to have sidewalks along the sides? (Your proto pic didn't come up for me). Maybe a curb for one side and a narrow walk on the other. The curb could be right at the edge of where the car side extends out to, just enough space to keep autos and freight cars from sideswiping.

Ok. I'm gonna say it. Modeling populated areas sucks.

And modeling populated areas surrounded by tracks sucks even ops.

I'm currently fighting my layout.

I think in my era maybe 5 pr 6 people lived along the RGS.  I can actually model them!  I do know sheep vastly out numbered humans in all of the counties served by the RGS, which meant the dating scene was...well...

At the very least, there are loads of N Scale sheep available. Maybe add a Noch "special" figure?

Women, can't live with them.  Sheep can't cook.

Stop fighting !  The hobby is supposed to be relaxing.  Too much fighting in this world, shouldn't be any in your basement empire.

My CF7's need some street running action in their future

Think about how many nights you'd have to spend making trees if you were doing just unpopulated areas  :D

Ed, adding people is easy, take a look at some photos from the town on my old layout. It makes the scene way more interesting and brings it to life.
