But I was never very fond of ground foam. What kind of vegetation growes like foam clumps? It looks good from a distance, but more close up...I admit, I use ground foam myself, but I don't really like it. So what is the alternative? Static grass of course, but you cannot have grass everywhere either. I would like to find a way of modelling grass like this:
I hear you, but, one of the things I learned was that static grass is actually not always best. When you're talking about little stuff that's about the size of a man's foot, fine ground foam is about the best thing I've found.
Shorter static grass?
No, static grass is not always best. And perhaps ground foam is the best thing availble for low growing stuff, but I wish there was something even better
Pot toppers ..and some good ideas herehttp://adenarailroad.blogspot.com/2015/08/scenery-test-module-part-3.html
I have to wonder if you could chop the 2mm stuff in a blende and have the results still stand up.
Why not put down the 2mm fibers then trim to desired height with a beard trimmer?
I think the mud color is spot on around the roundhouse. A modest application of straw color static grass would be a good touch. Not everywhere, but enough to mix it up a little.
