^What that guy said.  I also look forward to an actual ops session on your layout one day, since we never got to do ops with this yard installed at Lee's house.

Ha. Me too! That's one of the many reasons I'm so glad I've been able to re-home it.

I feel like there's an article coming on...  I have quite a catalog of photos of the construction of the original configuration...  I love what you're doing with it.

Actually if my foggy memory serves we did run the yard during the final ops session before it was dismantled.  Not sure who was yard master - though I do recall getting a stern talking to for needing to run through A/D to get to the junction on the far side because a switch was set wrong or something . . .

He really does need to tear out that horrible code 55 track and replace it with some nice geometrically rigorous Unitrack.

I hope so. That'll be fun. And I'm glad you're into it. I do try to keep the quality up so as to not disappoint the original owner!

I remember going there and STAGING the yard before it was torn out

But technically I thought we never operated it with car cards

Maybe I'm tripping over details

But I thought lee always lamented the fact he didn't operate it

I operated it quite a bit, actually.

I used that acrylic holder as a sorter, using a dry erase marker to label tracks for flexibility.  The utility of the A/D tracks, the runner track and the switch leads all came about as a result of the collective brain power of the Railwire.

Now that you're all fat and happy with a high dollar job, I've already started designing your new basement around the yard.  Let me know if Terri wants a bedroom or something upstairs.  I'll see what I can work out.

Excellent. I don't start till Monday though... but I think that might be in the cards in a bit (probably after I "finish" the layout, but before I have an Ops session... there are traditions to be upheld!).

Works for me too.  Ed, are you planning to use car cards?
