I say keep the turntable like BNSF has in Willmar, Mn: http://goo.gl/maps/i6cNq and put the engine terminal on the leads into the turntable (or perhaps one each side?). Also, I wouldn't make the Flexi-flow double ended. Most of these weren't, or at least the ones I've gone on Google maps and seen. Trucks would have to be able to drive out of there and it'd make it easier if they didn't have to drive over leads to do that,

The turntable is a goner. It's actually been oos well before it moved to its new home, and I have no desire to make it operational again.

It, and the service track aren't really needed there. York is right up the street, so to speak, from Enola, and there's a wye less than a mile away in case anything really needed to be turned.

I do plan on having an access road along the pit track though, and probably parking a fuel truck there too to top up the local power between its 92-day trip back up to Enola.

Ghosts of B&O at Keyser, WV

Closer to your application, FEC run-around where the old turntable & engine house was. Now paved over as an auto port.

Warning: Thread drift!

What's the story on that vandy tender sitting all alone in the middle of the storage tracks?

Nobody really knows. Here's what's REALLY weird about it:
1. It has RPCX reporting marks. Those are basically used by preserved stuff in transit under the care of an insurance company.
2. It moves around the yard. Take a look at a few different photos and you'll see its location change.

I'm not sure of the number, but I can confirm that the tender was there in May 2010 when my wife and I were leaving for our honeymoon.  This picture was taken from the deck of the Carnival Pride in the Port of Baltimore:

It's not the B&Os. They use BOMX. I've heard it belongs to one Jim Riffin, Esq. the mere sound of the name is enough to send many into a blind rage. When we get the number, I'll look it up.

Ok, number is RPCX 545. Once part of the equipment at A Yard, deacessed by B&O to private owner. Moved to current location for draw head repair. Repairs completed but not moved since (except around the yard). Tender is former C&O.

If Riffin is an attorney, it's not in Maryland.  He's not listed on the Maryland Courts website as an active licensed attorney.  FYI, one of the articles Ed linked to states that he is not an attorney and never uses one, expect for one that he retained for a bankruptcy matter.

From what I remember, he went to law school, but never passed the bar. Or maybe passed the bar but doesn't practice, or something like that.
