I feel for you. My modeling goal for this week is to reformat and re-set-up my Pi. It's launching a "phantom" instance of JMRI on boot, which I think is being caused by the leftovers of all my struggles trying to get JMRI to launch on boot. I've definitely come to the conclusion that electronic progress is just as legitimate as progress in any of the myriad of other skills required in this hobby.

I need to work on my computer/JMRI as well.  I updated to new version last week and now I have a yellow unknown button for the layout power button.  I haven't had time to look at settings or anything since I updated things.

Don't worry, crap is still crap.  Smells the same even if it looks different.  No need to remember!

You know, one of the things that I think @Puddington would've been proudest about the funeral train is the progress that it's inspiring some of us to make.
I know my big push toward scenery here in this update is largely being driven by the impending arrival.

Ok, I guess people need photos to notice, so...

Track GLUED DOWN (suck it @seusscaboose) with replacement ties in place.

Because it's TRW, I just want to reiterate how much I despite plastic rail joiners.  But, of more concern, are the huge rail gaps you have in these joiners.  I realize that there's supposed to be a gap (the little prong that keeps the rail ends apart), but it doesn't appear that the rails are fully inserted into the rail joiners, leaving some monster gaps.  Compare the farthest rail (the smallest gap) to the closest rail and the third rail back, for example.  Ew.

Oh, and you also have a hump at the joint nearest the camera.  Are the replacement ties under the rail joiners causing this?

@Ed Kapuscinski  Can you share the image of what you are trying to simulate with the CAT?

It actually looks like the hump is in the foam beneath the cork.
