Dude,
while my DMV operating chops were limited to John and Eric's masterpeices (once Lee's empire got parted out) I don't ever recall replacing a machine DURING an operating session.  Is this really the issue?

If the DCC Concepts stuff has similar hookups I"d be tempted to go with that, mostly because it's smaller and light weight . . .

Nope, usually you just take the switch out of service. But I'd hate for it to happen.

The point is moot, however, because I've got a six pack of the little green buggers sitting in my basement right now.

Well that covers your first session . . . unless Lee, Ben, DFF and Eric are all over . . . then good luck getting your switches unfouled . . .

What's pulling the train on the inside track?

I assumed it was a passenger car split back to the inside track...

Even though I SHOULD be installing tortoises or slide switches, I've been recontouring the terrain around Hanover Junction.

But now that I look at it some more, based off of this photo, I think I need to flatten it out a little bit more.

I don't think that you should flatten the terrain out.  It appears in your photo photo that there is some undulation in there.  If anything, the rolling terrain you have now might allow you to cheat the height of your trees a little.  I'd leave it alone.

Ed, I seen this video in a FB group and immediately thought of you and your ops app/site you are working on.

What's the railing along the road for?

Oh, I'm still keeping it rolling, just not quite as severe right there.

I've flattened it out a bit, but it's still about 1" high.

Looking at the actual location, there's a bit of a ridge right along the tracks because the road runs there for a little bit. This way, I'm getting that same effect.

There's a bit of a drop off, and the county doesn't want anybody falling off the trail.
