Me gusta Russ.

You're only 15 minutes further from me than John...

I think Tim. Eventually...

Eventually, I thought I would get more work done this year but the "Lutherville Electric" truck is now called the "Grey Ghost" cause that is what it gave up. So things are moving at a glacial pace in the basement. But "Eventually" is still correct. I think John was surveying the land on this side of aerodrome for a possible tunnel....

I'm trying to figure out how Russ is only 15 more minutes than John.

Well, now that I look at it, since I moved south from Cockeysville, it changed the calculus a bit. But I can get to Marysville in about an hour, maybe an hour 10. It's about 35-40 minutes to John's.

Of course, this is only because I live north of the city.

Ed, very nice. The only thing missing is cabin cars. I saw one transfer hack, but you need some honest to goodness N5's, N7's, N12's and N20's to make those trains complete  :D

I agree. The rest are boxed up at the moment though.

Tonight was actually a momentus occasion. Dave, Eric and his lovely wife Diana stopped by for the first (albeit small) operating session.

Based on the paperwork I worked up last night, we sorted an inbound cut of cars into various locals and outbound blocks for pickup by passing manifests.

For putting in almost no mechanical work, Lee's original track work worked almost flawlessly.
Not bad for being carted across the bay.

Thanks guys (and lady) for stopping by. I had a blast.

Oh, burn!

Ed, Dave, and I had a full crew going operating the yard. I was driving, Ed was throwing turnouts, and Dave was cutting off cars.  It was a quickie, but I hear that's how Ed likes it.

Diana and I also had the honor of being shown around the tracks of Baltimore at night. Very cool, but a little creepy. We saw some action on the NEC, and a few gems around town, like a few remaining B&O CPL 's. The Darth Vaders are already installed behind them, so their days are clearly numbered.

Ed, many thanks for an awesome evening!

It was great having you here Eric! I'm still working on that "these are the places you saw at night in the daylight" email, but it might take the form of a new page on my website (for reuse).

Dave looks more like a funeral director than an attorney.  Glad to hear the festivities went well...
