I'm thinking about doing something set up in the Reading Cluster (how can you not love http://conrailphotos.thecrhs.org/OnLocationWithConrail/HardCoalCountry ?), and the yards up there were quite different.
Would you be content with having MP15s as (almost) your sole choice of motive power?
Maybe you can do a dead body and a police scene in the vacant lot. That would add some scenic interest.
Funny to read this. York came up incidentally in this article I read at lunch today (https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-12-21/the-south-will-rise-again-under-gop-tax-plan). Forget the article, but this is the quote I laughed at and your comment really cemented a vision of York for me:"York, which used to be a fairly awful place, economically speaking, has enjoyed an economic renaissance...."
How was the crime rate in December 1985 ? If you were doing modern, you could have a couple crime scenes taped off
One other thing I've forgotten to mention.I'm working against a self imposed deadline. We're looking to move sometime this year, and I want the thing "article ready" by the time it has to come down. And yep, @OldEastRR , that's exactly what I'm talking about. That's a beautiful facility but the timeline gives me chills.
I visited the York Industrial History Museum today and drove around taking more backdrop photos.I'm reinvigorated.So... Paving began on Pershing Avenue when I got home. (Attachment Link)
Can't wait to see it in person, maybe have some steam tourist power slip through.
