To use a quote from Rick Dale's opening statement from American Restoration:

"Look at a man's workbench. You see his passions. His works in progress. The things that drive him crazy. Projects that... you get the point. Anyway, every workbench tells a story."

My workbench shows my lack of  finesse with thin CA.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Just gotta paint my G22b classes.
It took some tinkering for the trucks and coupler. Taking Bryan's suggestion, I used MTL Andrews trucks but they still would not sit right. The wheels would not clear that cross rib so I had to clip it out. Even if the car body was resting on top of the truck, it still was fouling the wheel. I also used the brass coupler shims to shim the trucks from riding too low.  I don't know if I did something wrong or not, but I think it worked out in the end.

Josh,

You are correct, you must remove the outer cross ribs.  It's been a while since I built mine, so I forgot to mention that.  Model looks good, get it painted!

I have had this Fine N X31 kit for a while and I finally got around to completing it.  I have done about a dozen Fine N kits and the are really superb.  They assemble very easily and the decals are excellent.

The Challenger and train are seen at the Bealville farm - railfans have followed her to nearly every crossing, even in this remote area.

Nothing too exciting from me this weekend, just a IM SD40T-2 that I'm upgrading the looks on. It'll end up getting painted into my freelance RR.

Worked on a couple of different tasks on the Seaboard Central this week:

1) Built a cassette to add length and runaround capabilities to the Seaboard System mainline in Aberdeen (The Southern train is just test running the track, but, coincidentally, that B23-7 was the test train for the Tucker trackwork redesign on seusscaboose's NKP layout).  This cassette is temporary until the expansion of the layout can occur.  That could be a while, depending on the availability of Atlas Code 55 track.

2) Started roughing in the first industry on the layout, which is a tight squeeze between the tracks and a hill in a narrow space.  An LPG dealer seems to fit:

More can be seen on the Seaboard Central 2.0 thread in the Layout Engineering forum: https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=25551.405

As always, my favorite thread ...keep up the good work everyone...

This week I learned some new weathering techniques......The scale is all wrong, but the techniques seem to work very well......now to beat up some nice N scale models...

Progress at Divide.

The local sits in the yard as a DPU unit follows a mainline manifest towards Spokane

Overview of the East yard throat at Divide. Sure looks to me like that third Atlas #7 in the row has wye tendencies. Doesn't look straight after the points diverge.

Didn't really do much work on the layout this week, but played around with a bit of switching at Fort Nelson
