Interesting.  What is the source of the model photo?  Definitely an Amtrak auto rack, which is great for the legions of Auto-Train modellers.   :|

If they were willing to tool different sides (or just print vent holes, like the Athearn Auto-Max), it looks like they could also do a pretty good rendition of CNA and CP.

Kato's tweeter feed.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

So technically that's an EAST COAST car since it only runs from Lorton VA to Sanford FL, right?   :D
Can't model worth a darn, but can research like an SOB.

"I vote this one. Kato loves them modern passenger equipment. Maybe they will make  some special editions for Amtrak to sell on their website, like that parlor car."

What???  And ruin their western bias???

Those show up here in Jessup all the time ...  Traincat (or someone else) could also do side panels to overlay with the different patterns ..

Not sure what the market would be .. or if anyone would even care about variations in hole patterns

What's the era of those cars?  I have a sneaky suspicion that if Kato puts a Phase III paint scheme on them, they're going to be foobies.  I could live with it, though, but they'll need to release a P30CH (POOCH).

Looks like it can be kitbashed into one of the freight equipment counterparts with new etched stainless sides.  Too late for my Conrail era though.

hmm...
wonder if that means they will also do the 10 deluxe-bedroom sleeper that's unique to the Autotrain?

Kato has certainly fallen in bed with Amtrak over the past year. Anything else uniquely Amtrak that they could hit on?
