I guess i should have been more specific.  I didnt think about the express refers.  I was talking about these http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=3179259.  I have not seen these cars done by any manufacture.

I believe that's a photo of a 60ft express box car built by Trenton Works in 1997. MHCs were different.  Here is a link to a webpage with great Amtrak info.

...mannly men.... with buttered scones for tea.................

LOL!  You just reminded me of those very clever Nynex Yellow Pages TV commercials from the early 90s.  One, for Civil Engineers, depicted couple of train engineers sitting on comfortable armchairs, sipping tea and eating finger sandwiches, while having a very civil conversation.  Those commercials were so funny!

Kato only did the Phase III and IV in MHCs, the phase I cars are smooth side baggage cars.

Good to see CN and CP offered up straight away, but I can't say I'm excited about a 4 car set.

I would have added a CP or CN for variety, so I guess I'll be on the look out for break-up sets.

I imagine a lot of these will get broken up.   One CN/CP is all I would really need.

To echo the above - delighted to see CN and CP right off, but 4 car sets?  Kind of like having to get 10 APL containers with my Maxi-I's: I'd rather not.  I'd be ok with 2 CN and 2 CP though.  I think I'll write them and let them know, FWIW.  In any case, I'm looking forward to a new rack.

Added - I see they've already listed part numbers for the 4 car sets: one is all CN, one all CP.  If anyone is interested in a 2+2 split, PM me, and we might work something out in advance.  Maybe we could find a friendly dealer who is willing to split two sets between two buyers, prior to shipping...

Hmmm, CN... I like.  The Kato goodness continues!  :D :D :D

I must admit to not having seen these beasties on the the rails.  Most of what I see here is the run of the mill yellow/stainless paneled variety.

I could use at least one CP one, but like others I'll be on the look out for single cars.

There's also the Johnstown America demonstrator schemes... granted, one offs ( and to be honest I think the same car).  I'll have to dig through my photos, I caught the one with an awesomely large JAC logo and Aluminum Vehicle Carrier spelled out almost a decade ago.
