"Rock Chuck"

          Everyone living out here in the West knows what a "Rock Chuck" is or the by the derogatory term "Pot Gut". Here is my version of the Great Northern Gopher/Badger I call the Rock Chuck. The E-7 diesel is from Precision Craft, the orange color is too orange. Passenger cars are MT, Con Cor, Centraillia . The green and orange on the Con Cor cars looks correct. The green on the MT Express cars is too light. I apologize for cars lettered "Empire Builder" which never ran on these trains. As you can see Rocky approves. Nate Goodman (Nato). Salt Lake, Utah.

I still like it Nato. A little color variation is a good thing. They are muted by the inclusion of a proper environment for such a train anyway.

I've been known to get a little bent out of shape about paint colors/shades too, but I have to agree with w neal...it's hardly drawn to your attention with such a grand scene as part of the composition.   (Even after having it pointed out, I can still see it being one of those proto shots where the sun peeks through the clouds and "lights up" the paint)  And, I'll admit I've mellowed a little bit since my days of railing IMRC about their BNSF mineral red/brown  ...most of us are all still friends though.
