I noticed the same thing. It's definitely inverted.

Thanks Dave. I changed the position of the Delta truck frame to create a variation.

Here are two more O-4 Mikado's with the Delta truck frame upright. All three steam locomotives run beautifully and each will pull sixty cars on level track after judicious placement of additional weight in each locomotive.

Wow - that is getting very remote.  Not many people have been in there to take photographs.  Interesting bridge construction - the girders supporting the ties seem to be lower down within the trusswork compared with my Pine River bridge ie. they extend below the top chords and not above them.  At least it appears that way to me in your pictures.

Yes it is very remote and we were very aware of the bear risk the whole time.  I wouldn't recommend doing this kind of thing.

It was good to see that the bridge basically resembled what I had built so far.  What few differences I found (recessed deck height and some I-beam diagonals rather than lattice) I can live with.  The deck is recessed below the level of the top side girders which I have not seen before.  The first box truss on the south end is actually lopped off to a diagonal truss and is supported from the top of the truss (not the bottom as the other 2 box trusses are), so it sort of hangs down diagonally into the very dense bush below.   This is a very curious detail I would never have known without getting in there.   The river itself is muddy and slow flowing and is in a deeply incised valley at this location.

As for Chris he is long overdue to post on weekend update *hint*, but the layout looked great with rough scenery and nice fascia installed.  I neglected to bring my camera on that outing.

Last week I engaged in a bit of extreme prototype research when I persuaded a friend of mine that it would be fun to take pictures of the Beatton River bridge at mile 821 of the Fort Nelson subdivision.

This involved a 100 mile drive from Fort St John BC, the last 50 of which were on rough oilfield roads.   This got us close to Beatton River siding



From here it was a 3.5 mile hike down to the bridge where I took all the photos I will ever need including these.









Then of course there was a 3.5 mile hike back to our road access point.

Apart from proving it could be done, the main reason for all this was to get reference pictures to help with the N scale version which up until that point was based on a handful of poor photos and some basic known dimensions.

Excellent work on those bridges I really enjoy seeing your work. I got a few I'm working on I just need to post the pictures that are on my cell phone once I can get them onto my computer.

Also spent some time working on this Inspection Car.  Learned some things along the way to hopefully make it better the next time.  Sides are from Union Station and the "core" is a Con-Cor superliner car.





Wonder if the sides would fit on a Kato bi-level.

Any tips on this?  Might do one for my BN Business train...if I ever get around to it

In theory it should.  Only thing I used from the Con-Cor car was the floor, trucks, roof, and one end.  Everything else was removed.  The only thing I might change is to leave the original glass in place and build around that.  For this one, I removed it and installed the supplied glass after being tinted.  No interior to speak of, so that's the reason for the dark glass all the way around.  Building the inspection lights was an interesting challenge.  Ended up using styren rod cut at a 45 degree ang and then shaping to fit/look like the proto pics I had.  might be a tat on the large side... not an easy build, but learned a lot for future projects.

The lowered deck reminds me of a similar design on the CPR's bridge over the Slocan River in South eastern BC.

I know, I know, it is not steam but I just finished this for my wife. She has a Smokey Bear / fire prevention train and I found a photo of 5902 and made an attempt to model it. Not too bad IMHO. I have spent more time on this than any other loco that I have worked on because I had to run fiber optics to get the lights into the nose and also ditch lights. they look great when lit up. You know, if mama isn't happy . . . . . . . . .





This is for show coming up in October. Kids will get a kick out of it.

I think what they're trying to say is that the delta trailing truck sideframes are upside down.  Hopefully they won't be too hard to pop off and flip over.  Here's a reference photo from GHQ to show the correct orientation:
